Should I buy a Sprint HTC Hero or wait for a CDMA Nexus One?

Does the Sprint HTC Hero contain most of the functionalities of Nexus One? Should I wait for a CDMA version of Nexus One?

rofl the hero doesn't even come close to comparing

higher resolution screen
better processor
etc.

the nexus one may never come to sprint though so if you want to stick to sprint, get a touch pro 2

While it may not go to sprint specifically, we already know they're making a CDMA version as they're making a Verizon phone. But that means that when it's released, you'll have to buy a 'carrier-less' phone and have Sprint add it to your account (which I'm not sure they can even do on new phones they aren't familiar with). Plus the carrier-less phone is pretty pricey at $530.

The Verizon Nexus One has been annouced to come out in the Fall/Winter and no announcement of Sprint version but it could be the same time frame but who knows. If you want to wait that long then go ahead.

I have the Sprint Hero and a pretty happy with it. It certainly is underpowered for what is running on it (supposedly the android 2.1 update will improve performance though); it's usable, just not the snappiest thing in the world (I assume disabling HTC's Sense UI should help, but I'm happy enough as-is). The guys over at XDA are pretty far along with Android 2.1, so if Sprint doesn't provide the update soon it might be ready (or close enough for me) from them. Also, there is a rumor of a Sprint/LG/Android phone to be announced at CES.

I'm having envy over the Nexus One though. I'll likely opt for an upgrade once Sprint gets a Nexus One (or like) device and sell the Hero.

Oh yeah, in terms of functionality It's basically that same. Biggest thing missing that I really would like is Google Maps Navigation -- Sprint Navigation is doing the job for now though.

Sprint will not add a non-Sprint phone to your account, it just isn't going to happen. I wouldn't be surprised if the Nexus came to Sprint but it will be a while after Verizon launches.

The Hero is certainly a usable phone. I have it and it is currently my favorite Sprint phone. It is a bit laggy but no where near as bad as the Pre. I definately like it better than the Tour and it's antiquated OS. I don't even consider WM an option anymore. Besides the fact the OS blows, the TP2 is $350 and a huge brick. For Sprint the Hero is the way to go.

I have the Hero and think its pretty snappy. I have no lags since the last update and ever since I got rid of all the Sprint apps, I just love it more.

I haven't even touched my iPhone since. I wish my job would take it back, it's annoying carrying two phones.

Anyone think that the Verizon N1 will be LTE? Could be why they don't show sprint...
