Should I drop Spanish 2?

I took Spanish 1 this last year(Sophmore) and I got D's both semesters, and I really didn't understand it too much. I didn't try hard, like any of my other classes but I've decided to get my sh!t together and I'm thinking even if I do pass it'll be with a D, and that'll just further lower my GPA.

Can you take it S/U? (assuming it's required for your degree) That's the route I took. No comprendo bien.

Yeah, personally I don't like how they do Spanish @ UCLA in all ... SPANISH. I tested into Spanish 3 and I couldn't cut it, I barely passed with a B, if I were you I would take it for a pass/no pass if you can, but if you're going to get a D and you know it, then maybe you should try another language. But you should try talking to your counselor before making any decisions. Good luck!

Switching to another language may not be helpful, as Spanish is one of the easiest to learn for most people. One thing that can make a huge difference is trying a well-recommended teacher (if you can). And then of course just bite the bullet and study it every day until you finish. My husband just finished his Spanish language requirements and always felt lost and tortured. But luckily he did what he had to to "get it out of the way". I wouldn't advance to the next level if you feel you really did not get most of the material. Either repeat it (not neccesarily for credit) or slef-study until you really get the basics down, as it will get more hardcore in the second year. Good luck -- I'm sure you'll do well this time

no, dont drop it, i dropped mine back in freshman year, now i'm a senior and i have to pass spanish two without taking spanish 1 for 3 years
