Should i get Ge force 4 Ti4400 now?

Right now i'm equipped with a Ge Force 2 ultra 64mb. I had just purchased a lcd flat panel from dell, and it supports dvi, but i don't have a video card that outputs that. I'm wondering if i should get a ge force 4 ti 4400 now? OR wait till the end of this year to get ge force 5? Any recommendations as to what i should do?

Do you play games? if so...you can use your old CRT monitor to play games with it and surf the web with your new LCD...
if you do get the ti4400...

I would. When the new nvidia card comes out (who really knows when) expect to pay very high prices for it. Unless you have a ton of money or you don't mind spending well over 300 bucks for a video card you're going to wait several months more before you buy anyway. Furthermore, there is always something new on the horizon. When the next gen cards come out everyone will be talking about the next gen, and so on....

That's true. And a 4200 will still blow your G2 out of the water.

Whatever you do, make sure it's a 128MB card. I wouldn't spend close to $400 on a new card, though, and I don't think the GF4 prices will drop more than 20 or 30 bucks in the next two months. Is that worth it? My rec- get a 4400.

PS It looks like (generally) the 128MB 4200's are oc'ing to about 550MHz memory, while the 4400's oc to close to 650. And at default, there is also about a 100MHz difference. I'd pay the extra $40 or whatever for that 100MHz memory bump.

PPS The 8500 is a nice card, but for some reason the UT2 demo code runs much slower on it. That's why I ended up with 4400.

Ti4400 is the best bang for the buck right now.
Definitely a powerful card that will last quite
a while imho.
