My build is down below, should I OC to 4.1GHz? I want to improve overall performance.

Yes? Counter me a scenario where overclocking does not improve performance.
I get deduction fails reading your post.

As long as all files that need to be accessed quickly are on the Samsung SSD, and you're not looking to improve gaming/graphics performance specifically, then yes, OCing is the next step. What CPU cooler do you have?

Stock fan, that was my next question, what fan should I get?

you can (probably) get 4100 with your eyes closed.

Pretty easy with those chips, shouldn't need much of a voltage boost for 4100 - possibly stock voltages will be fine.

Guys I dont know AMD now so, Can he OC to 4.1 without touching voltage ?

Things will get hotter but other then that hes safe. Get a custom cooling like Corsair H100 or lower HSF. gl

Okay, I thought I needed to buy a new CPU cooler.

You might want to keep an eye on the temps with the stock cooler .. I'm pretty much a noob here but if I understand correctly - even with the same volts - an increase in clock speed will/can generate additional heat.

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can confirm or correct this statement.

That said, I'm using an 8200 running at 4300 MHz just using a Corsair H60 with no issues - this in So. Cal. with some fairly warm ambients. Don't really stress my system for long time spans though - 20-30 minutes at a time maybe - then back to idle mostly.

This is false in my experience. You need a moderately significant voltage boost. FX-6300 is rather poor at voltage/clockspeed scaling.

I would suggest the Arctic Freezer A30. Massive, whisper-quiet, keeps your shit ice cold. Basically a slightly-downgraded Noctua for WAY cheaper than it should be.

I don't think you should overclock. Overclocking in my opinion is a hassle and too takes too much time (testing for stability, if unstable do more tweaking and test again for stabilty). Besides instability, you can get data corruption, risk damaging whatever you are overclocking, and shorten the life of whatever you are overclocking. Don't get me wrong, when I had my 3930k oc'd at 4.2GHz I had a strange problem with Intel Burn Test when after running Intel Burn test, the result box that tells you if the system was successful during the test didn't appear on the screen even though it didn't crash or BSOD my system during the test, so I didn't know if the test was a success or not. Maybe it was a bug in the program or maybe my system was not stable from the overclock, but overclocking just added another element to the problem. If you want faster CPU performance, my suggestion is just buy a faster CPU and sell your old one.
