should i sell my computer?

Lately, my computer has definately kept me from doing well in school and being social. Instead of doing homework or going out with friends, I
just sit in front of it all day reading tech sites, slashdot, the news, anything to keep me occupied. I'm always on instant messenger, too.

It's gotten pretty bad, and I'm thinking if I sell my computer, maybe things would turn around. Now, anandtech is probably a pretty bad place
to ask, but maybe people will have some insight?

specs for the computer are below. its funny how overpowered the machine is considering i never play videogames on it anymore.

Plus, with the money I'll make, I could buy some cool stuff to keep me from going totally crazy while still not wasting all my time staring at a monitor.

Literally, that's so not true; it's only got a 250W PSU

Anyway, I don't recommend selling it because you'll need it to get online and research, e-mail etc. You just have to exercise your willpower so as not to waste time excessively. And it might be good to motivate yourself to see your friends more.

I never to research online, and there are plenty of labs around so I can telnet in and check my e-mail. I've tried willpower, and its failed miserably.

I think it'd be pretty useless then. What would I do with it? I don't play computer games anymore anyways.
