Again, why does gas matter at ALL when you're owning TWO $70,000 vehicles??

And geez, the M5 doesn't get much better mileage than the X5 either.

Sell the X5, buy a Prius or a Civic Hybrid, and you've got $20,000 to spend on gas for the M5.

Sell the X5, and get a pickup truck for when you need to haul stuff. Other than that, M5 is plenty of car.

I hate to break it to you, but the quality and reliability ratings for BMW is now below Chevy, and well below Toyota and Honda.

The M5 is my *dream* car. I must be one of the most avid M5 fan on bmwm5.com forums... oh well, one day maybe...

I'd sell the X5 and get like a nice Audi Quattro, since you said you wanted to drive it in all conditions.

the prius is too small and would be a stupid choice based on someone who has the income to support a new M5 and X5. your suggestion of the car as a daily driver (from both safety and comfort standpoints) is ridiculous. its gas mileage is decent but a civic hybrid is a nicer car for a few dollars more and gets almost the same milage. however, the civic has the same problems as the prius, small and no anemities and unsafe. you can always get a used car like an e34 m5 or 540 6spd and sell your M5, or smaller truck (if you still want the speed get a lightning, if you want the AWD get an audi or something along those lines.)

your dismissal of the fx45 b/c it's a little brother to the x5 (assuming you are dismissing it b/c the fx45 is not nice enough?) is odd b/c a prius is a PoS. if you're concerned about the quality of your car you wouldnt be considering the prius, so don't dismiss the fx45.

if you don't want a another bmw then say so or get bad advice. i'd sell the x5 since it chews gas and performs "poorly" and get a daily driver. there are a ton of cars available but you need to decide what price range you want, what performance you want, the safety required, and what kind of car you want among other things (truck / suv / sedan).

if you want a quick fix, sell the x5 and get a 325ix or 330ix.

he's telling the truth... go back and find one of those 'post pics of your car' threads... im positive he's got pics of both of the cars in every one of those threads.

Also kinda neat the the two license plates are 3 digits apart. Damn RMV (Registry of Motor Vehicles as it is known the People's Republic of Taxachusetts.) made me get back in line to register.

Plus I can't really drive it in the snow so its garaged for most of the year. The 4.6is is nice but it really chugs down the gas (16MPG). So as a daily commuter it's not 100% practical.

Perhaps something like the new Toyota Prius as a daily driver?

Ditch the X5 and keep the M5 as a collectors item...it's destined to become a classic!
