on another note, if youre not going to be gaming in college, I'd make a media PC. It's great for having people (girls) over and small get togethers

If you're not going to be getting a laptop for school... and you're going to stick with the budget you have there... I would recomend:

Dell FP2001 (20" Normal aspect ratio... can't spell) or the Dell WFP2005 (20" Wide screan... don't exactly know the letters before the model number... but the number is correct)

For headphones... Beyerdynamic DT250-80 studio headphones if you want a nice sealed pair of studio hadphones... great accurate bass and great overall sound

As for upgrades... I haven't been keeping up w/ PC hardware upgrades... so do as you will...

Asus makes some smaller Micro-ATX Cube Cases(300w) and a new case called an Expresso that looks kind of nice. You could just buy a Laptop. Dell makes some nice cheap boxes too. I say get a standard size desktop and use the onboard Sound. They make some sound solutions that fit in a CDROM Bay. They also make nice LCD Monitors with speakers built in. That would reduce clutter.

Attending GCC, eh? I guess I'll be seeing you in the fall then, it's a pretty small campus, I probably couldn't miss you.

I'll definitely be gaming in college, I hope, that's one of the main reasons I want to bring a desktop computer in the first place. I'm going to put off buying the LCD until summer, though. I really don't need one now and prices always go down in time, might as well get the best I can for the money, so I'll wait until then.

I did look at some smaller towers, but as Novus said, mine should be fine. And I really love my Kingwin case, it's great all around.

And for a laptop, GCC will be giving me a tc1100.
