I am out of current CPUs/video card loops and was looking for an advice.
Current Setup:
Intel i7-2600k CPU (stock, never overclocked) - Got it at release
Asus matx motherboard
12GB DDR3 Ram (stock)
HD7850 Video Card (stock) - connected to 3x 24" Monitors (1920x1200 resolution on each monitor)
256GB Crucial SSD
2x 2TB 7200rpm internal hard drives (one internal for data/work files, other internal for local backup, all data is also backed up in cloud via crashplan)
Seasonic 600w PSU - ~10+ years old running 24x7.
I do not overclock anymore. System is up 24x7 for the last ~3+ years. This is also my primary work computer, so reliability is of utmost importance. I am going to add external local drive to save all backups (and remove the internal backup drive)
Primary uses:
Office (word, excel, powerpoint, emails)
Gaming: BF3 or BF4 occasionally (couple of hours a week)
I just saw a deal for pre-built HP Envy 750se unit at ~$900 as follows:
Intel i7-6700k
16GB DDR4
nVidia 970gtx video card
2TB drive that comes standard can be used for data/files.
I will be adding SSD to this system (OS/Application) + external Hard drive for local backups.
Is it worth upgrading or stay with what I have currently? I do not have the time to tinker and play around anymore, so everything will always run at stock speeds.
