Should I wait for the kt400's? (Building a new comp)

Hey, I'm building a new comp and just wondering if it would be wise to wait for the kt400's to come out or not.

This new PC will not be for gaming (well, maybe a little now and then, but certainly not up to date gaming) so I'm focusing on stability (I will be using it for programming, networking, unix, trying new OS's, etc.). Obviously the KT400 will offer better performance I assume, which is not what I'm looking for, but I'm also concerned about life-span... Will I need to upgrade to the KT400 in a year anyways?

What will the KT400's give me that the KT333's will not? I searched for articles on the KT400 but most places assume knowledge on this subject..

obviously ... wait for KT400... shouldn't be long.. heard coming around in a couple of weeks

Even better, wait for nforce2 ... heard some really good things about it...

Why is that that a stupid question?

- The KT333 will be less expensive
- The KT333's might be more refined and stable
- I considered the Nforce, but it's aimed at gamers isn't it?

nforce isn't targeted as much at gamers as it is at highly integrated systems
the onboard gfx on the nforce are geforce 2mx equivalent, functional, but no speed demon
the onboard audio is supposed to be excellent
the kt333 is an excellent chipset, and i honestly can't anticipate 400mhz ddr having much real world effect on performance with available athlon chips, the athlon just doesn't use the extra bandwidth if you keep it at 133 fsb, judging by the relatively small gains of the kt333 over the kt266a
if you were able to unlock it and drop the multiplier and run at 200 fsb/ddr 400 memory then you might gain from the kt400, but it doesn't sound like you intend to oc much
what work are you looking to do on the box? and what kind of play? dvds/mp3s and stuff?
what components do you want integrated into your board? high end sound/lan/usb 2.0?

i'd stick with epox 8k3A kt333 and just update the bios when the kt400 comes out, with 1/6th dividers, and you essentially have the same thing
