Well I have had 2 PSU die on me in the past year or so and just gave $44 for a ESI 300watt from a locale shop which I am sure is generic. I just couldnt wait a week to get back online so I had to buy one. Anyway I was thinking maybe I need to buy a backup or maybe buy brand name and use this one for backup.

I was wondering should I buy a Enermax 350watt Wisper PSU for $45 shipped or should I just forget about it? I kind of hate to fork over another $45 for another PSU. That would be $90 within a month just in PSU's.

My opinion, you should wait before spending money on a backup. Generally, PSUs don't go bad that fast unless you are doing some freaky stuff with it or you have some type of power problem in your area. Save your money and buy it if this one goes bad. If you go through this PSU though, you might want to find another cause.

Well I am afraid where this PSU I just bought is generic when/if it goes bad it might take everything else with it. Where the Enermax is brand name it might be less likely to go bad.

I know the reason for the first to go bad. It was only a 230watt running a overclocked Duron(600@950) and a oveclocked Geforce. Reason I know it was where I was overclocking is because I when I bumped my Geforce up I ran 3Dmark2001 and right in the middle of the lobby shootout my PC just shut off and wouldnt come back on.
