Well....The West Bank and Gaza Strip are strategic military oversight points. The nation of Israel were constantly bombarded from these areas prior to the 1967 and 1973 wars.
Mind you,the arabic nations(to the best of my recollection) have started EVERY WAR.They have lost every battle, except the stalemate in Beruit.
Now why would a nation provoked into war, and winning valuable security zones, give them back to the enemy? That would be a very foolish thing to do, indeed.
The United Nations may not recognize the West Bank and Gaza Strip as legitimate parts of the nation of Israel.Might this be due to the fact that arab nations(with UN Delegates)surround Israel?
Let's see, there's Jordan,Lebanon,Egypt,Saudi Arabia,Kuwait,Syria...the list goes on and on.
Israel has these allies:The United States.A bit of an imbalance,I'd say.
It is a fact that every war started in the middle east was started by arabic countries. It is also a fact that they lose, every time. The "P.L.O." has as part of it's charter the complete and total destruction of the government of Israel.
And you say that it's OK for 'palestinians'to attack Israeli soldiers when they are in 'the occupied territories'.Hogwash,The arabs started the wars, they lost, the Israeli's won, took over the territories, and have every right to annex those lands.
By the way,I cannot find a place on my latest maps of the middle east called palestine.Apparently, when the United Nations granted the Jews their ancestral homeland, it ceased being called palestine.
It is my understanding that the arabic peoples displaced in this creation of a new nation in 1948, were to be sent to Jordon, or maybe other arabic nations. They didn't go.
I submit that the arabs are no more palestinians than the jews. They all live in Israel, now.
