Why is this even a question?

Sometimes... man... I'd get banned if i said what i really think.

Do you have an idea what I'm talking about? Scooters. Mobile wheelchairs for those that cannot walk for much distance. Not a full fledged auto wheelchair...just something to enable independence for those that would be otherwise be homebound, leaching homehealthcare.

Actually, i thought you were talking about scooters but i should have known that for Americans that world means something completely different.

Still, are you people fucking daft or something? You actually think that people WANT that instead of using their own muscle power?

I am aware of quite a few who have gotten their legs or one leg blown off and they want to go back to their unit at first, when they realize they can't they try to do whatever thy can to live normal lives.

People don't sit in electric wheelchairs (scooters are NOT electric wheelchairs) for no reason.

Those who need them, they need them. (that point at the end means period, obviously i have to explain such things for you numbnuts)

Just as a FYI, a scooter in the entire world except in your head is a moped with some specifics, it's even trademarked and registered so look it up.

Originally the Scooter was a motorcycle but it has turned into a moped.

A Scooter has NEVER had anything to do with a wheelchair until you brought it up.

Right'o. Cheery up then. Pip-pip! Rather! how'bout some bangers-n-mash then! Buggers. Bullocks! I'm pissed up!

(actually I was pretty pissed up when I posted the OP)

So, semantics aside...

The device in question is a slow moving 3-4 wheeled device used to transport people without assitance for a medium duration. Let's say just about anything that allows them to get out of the house on their own.

Self Empowerment FTW.

I think they're a great idea, but I've seen MANY instances where a doctor will sign off on one just to get a pushy patient out of their office.

If the doc is signing off on one for a person that needs one for virtually any diagnosis other than morbid obesity, I'm on board with it.

How many 300 lb+ scooter drivers have you all seen? I've seen a lot of them and it just flat pisses me off to see my tax dollars given away like that.
