You can do a google search for a million videos or pictures of it. But should the President of the United States be bowing to ANY foreign leader? He didn't do it to the Queen of England but does it to a Saudi King? Seems to me to be sending the message that we are beneath the Saudi's.. also seems to fit with Obama's 'Blame America First' theme we saw in Europe.

Pretty sad if you ask me.. I know the first thing that will probably be mentioned is Bush's kissing of the King.. which I also think was inappropriate, but its pretty clear Bush did not think he was below the King.. but taken in context, with Obama apologizing for all of America's failings.. this seems pretty pathetic.

It really must be a slow news day. Nothing real to complain about, but you just HAVE to complain, so bring up some rediculous non-issue like this? I guess it beats getting a life doesnt it.

Any Democrat that is willing to come in and defend the Saudis here is begging for a e-whipping.

The whole Saudi family goes against everything that liberals stand for.

maybe you would have rather had him hold hands and kiss him on lips?
Which do you prefer?

I already addressed that. Liberals ripped Bush for it at the time.

He shouldn't do it to either, but to him the Queen of England represents an Evil Empire which tortured his grandfather. The British squeezed his grandfather's testicles with metallic rods, among other cruel things.

I can understand why he didn't bow to that whore.

Am I missing something or does your post make zero sense... Who/What liberal was defending the Saudi's? Obama went there as the prez. Its called diplomacy, and presidents have to do it.

And conservatives too, one would hope.

This is a non-issue. Under US law, the President is not sovereign. So unlike if, say, the British queen were to bow to the Saudi king, this did NOT symbolize the people or the govt of the US paying homage, and was simply the act of an individual.
Don't beg for your own e-whipping by arguing otherwise.

Obama should be ashamed if he bowed before any sort of inbred 'royalty'. In fact, he should not acknowledge any of these royals. He definitely should not have met the Queen of England at the very least because it would have been sufficient to meet Gordon Brown. Why should he be acknowledging such a horrible, sexist, and discriminatory institution that the Queen of England represents?

You obviously dont know diplomatic protocal. Obama has fucked it up over and over again since Janurary. His continued gaffes make him WEAKER in the eyes of other heads of state. People bashed Bush for his gaffes of a similar nature, why not Obama.

State Department officials and diplomats dont even bow. In fact they are instructed not to.

Everyone wants to give Obama a free pass on everything. Obama has come off as a novice statesmen during his G20 trip. He comes off weaker than some of his Euro counterparts. It is UNEXCUSABLE. He needs to learn quick or not travel until hes no longer a novice.

A person who is confident of his own standing is not afraid to show respect to others.

If I bow to the emperor of Japan I'm not acknowledging him as my sovereign or my superior, I'm merely being polite.

Hey, at least he didn't reject France's invitation to visit Normandy and view the crosses.

Oh wait

Wrong. Again, this is simple diplomatic protocol. You never show a sign of weakness implied or otherwise. Bowing to a king is showing a sign of weakness.
