Should schools be doing more to educate children of the importance of society over self? Today we seem to be getting more and more greedy. People are not looking at how they can contribute and make society a better, but instead how society can make them richer. This is clearly holding the world back.

We need to have schools start teaching children at a very young age the fundamental importance of putting the needs of society over their own. To teach them the importance of working to make the world a better place. The must learn that the whole is the greater than the individual. The greatest reward for work isn't money, but knowledge that you are helping advance society.

We need to work towards creating a world, were there is no rich, no poor, no greed, and were everyone works not for money, but for the benefit of society and their fellow human.

It isn't going to happen anytime soon.

Your fuckin ass goes to work for the same reason businesses exist, to make money. You don’t wake up every day thinking about how you can make the company you work for a better place. You don’t spend any of your free time down at the homeless shelter serving food. You don’t donate any extra income to charities, although a lot of the rich people you constantly bitch about do. The only difference between them and you is they managed to make more and you don’t think it is fair.

You want to make more, walk your entitled ass down to the county clerk and register a business name.

We must all work for the collective.
We must all work for the collective.
We must all work for the collective.
We must all work for the collective.
We must all work for the collective.
We must all work for the collective.
We must all work for the collective.
We must all work for the collective.

No... how about teaching your own kids morals, work discipline, and ethics.

Children should certainly be indoctrinated that they are here to support society. It will make it much easier for the existing powers to manipulate without them getting all uppity.

I have yet to put anyone on my ignore list, primarily because even as it may make me cringe, I want to read what others think. However, the more I read from you, the closer I am getting to pushing that ignore button.

The needs of the many Vs. Self and Family.

LOL . We been there done that. In all governments there are leaders . These leaders will put self above the needs of the many.

Your talking teaching Feudalism as being the end result . NO THANKS , SELF is the most important thing for a human being and how you interact with others . Were not bees or ants. But thats the model government is striving for. The return of the KING . NIM ROD and 1 world government . Anyone who believes that the needs of the many outway the needs of the few are misguided in the belief that any form of government under man will fullfill the needs of the many are complete retards. THe King will be about SELF. and own you. This cannot even be debated. WE been there done that . It doesn't work.

across the board public school tuition is in order. When you give something away, what is it's value? Tuition would involve the parents in school curriculum because most people want to know what they are paying for. Parents will be aghast upon finally knowing what's going on and insist an educational curriculum rather then a social engineering curriculum.

Leaders of Society should devote their life to society, society does not devote it self to the leaders. We do not need queens and kings who take all and give nothing.

Your entire first post was actually a manifesto in favor of a queen who takes everything and insists that nobody make any demands of her. That queen of course being your vaunted "society".

Wasn't this from Picards speech to Lilly when the meet in "First Contact"?

I'm not sure when or how things changed, but "the man" was something the youthful left was wary of. "Question authority" was the watchword, and I thought that good advice. Now not only do they approve of the powers that be, but have become "The Man" himself.

What a strange turn.

No, but that doesn't mean that the importance of working towards a common good shouldn't be stressed. Honestly, we probably need the return of old-school civics courses before that though.

Face it, Americans are greedy. This is the land of winner-take-all that has the worst social mobility in the developed world and consumes half the world's resources. We bomb the shit out of third world peasants every day just so we can take whatever they have. Why on earth would you want to fill a poor kid's head with silly romantic ideas about it being otherwise only to watch him get beat down in the real world?
