which god? personally i blame horus, the bird-headed egyptian god. however, i do admit some evidence points towards anubis the jackal-headed god, possibly with help from osiris the egyptian god of death.

now my neighbor on the other hand, he blames it all on the greek god atlas, son of iapetus (of course). but why would he even think such nonsense when the aztec gods tezcatlipoca and chalchiuhtlicue have twice the motives atlas does.

DUH!!!!

I somewhat like your thinking there - even though I am not a radical earth type person. What I do see is that we have been ignoring - thus abusing the spiritual realm.

If we believe there is God, and that He abides in a dimension that is beyond our natural comprehension - and moreover that dimension is the more real of the two (natual vs. spiritual) ...then we might assume that by our continuing down a path of more and more corruption in the natural - we are feeding into the spiritual our own natural demise.

I may have left some behind.

But a lot do, pyonir.

I know there a lot who do not - but this post actually was meant to make some who do .... think. I hate to say it - but what I thought might be a serious subject may be a bit too much for most to ponder.

After all - it really does little to make us feel good.

WTF has 'God' to do with this? Moron.

Are you calling me a moron? I resemble that remark - at times, anyway!

It isn't too much for most to ponder, it's that not many serious subjects survive here. We live in a serious world. Many (nearly all) come to AT Off Topic to escape that serious world and have a little fun. You said you rarely post in off topic, well, serious threads are very rarely serious here. Give Politics and News a try for serious topics (and old fashioned flaming).

In other words, you really have no clue, so in order to make yourself feel better about the whole thing, you make a bunch of sh!t up and choose to assign some manner of significance to it.

The concepts of God and spirituality are based on nothing.

You might have a little more luck posting something like this during the day, on a weekday. Weekenders and night posters aren't serious people for the most part. You might get a lot more replies during the week though.

Maybe tomorrow, then. Could be the light of day will bring out a different response.

Well, maybe I should tell you what I think - before the lock goes on the door.

I propose that there is a spiritual dimension and a natural one. The spiritual one is actually the real one - the one that will last. God lives in that dimension. He (God) has set a principle in place that basically allows man to destroy himself (if he so chooses). This principle dictates that as man becomes more and more corrupt - he reaps what he sows. The reaping could be called eruptions in the fabric of what we call our natural world. Katrina would be one of these eruptions.

Thats it. Hope that does not make someone angry.

It doesn't make me angry. It makes me consider you an intellectual lightweight. Why do you propose this stuff? What do you base it on? Wishful thinking? Is there ANY EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER to support this?
