You have 2 choices for a video game set in say a magical medievalesque RPG times.

(1) Women are portrayed as obviously ridiculous caricatures.

(2) Women are portrayed reasonably historically accurately. Which essentially means almost exclusively as pregnant, post battle rape victims, or whores.

Which do you think will affect it more?

Or are you just upset that video games created by men can't be used as vehicles to push your feminist agenda?

You realize that video games are a very minor facet of our media, right? And that video games that fit your criteria are a fraction of the ones produced?

As I told you earlier in this thread, debating against extreme cases weakens your argument.


Besides, this example is highly flawed in that the game developer is not limited to the two options you presented.

You make perfect sense in the limited scope you addressed the issue. We were also talking about the fact that some of us lament the fact there are bad neighborhoods in a world of plenty. Why are there men that women have to protect themselves from. Why do we have a culture filled with so much sexual violence. Do you enjoy worrying about your daughter walking around the block or your wife getting raped? You can take precautions but you can do nothing about the reality of the need to worry and that is very sad. But anger is intimately connected to sad. Sadness is repressed rage.
