Shouldn't the FBI have better things to do right now?

<< Huge Crackdown on software piracy

I'm pretty pissed that the agents and agencies aren't focusing solely on my personal safety and national security, not to mention tracking down where all this anthrax is coming from. :|
>>

So all other crime should be ignored because terrorists attacked us?

BTW, repost number 3.

Sorry the search thing never works for me and this forum is so active I can never keep up.
Not ignored... prioritized... with crimes involving large companies percieved monetary losses falling way below issues that kill innocent peoples.

Sorry, but I don't agree. Yes, they should focus a signifigant portion of their energy on terrorism, but at the same time, not let up on other crimes.

Dude each computer had between 1-2 TERABYTES of pirated stuff in them! Gawd, thats too much to just ignore. Plus I think all the government agencies are doing all that they can to prevent further terrorist attacks in the country but a lot of other sh!t also happens in the country and as I said, you just cant ignore it.

So you are saying that: Human Life < 1-2 Terabytes of pirated software. At what point can we balance that equation? 20 gb = human life or maybe 60gb even?

<< Doody said one computer held more than 5,000 individual movie titles. >>

thats 3,000 gigs of stuff right there... Either these guys had some serious hard drives, or a lot of cd-rs full of stuff

btw, no.. they shouldnt ignore "small" crimes or whatever...besides, i dont think this is just a small crime... its a future deterrant possibly... theres only so many warez groups out there... so they start from the top and move down... i know if i was doin hardcore warez, i'd definitly stop to rethink what i was doin

Sorry, but at what point do we recognize that not all FBI agents can be working on the same thing? I mean, what are we all specifically doing to combat terrorism right now? Personally, I'm not doing a whole heckuva lot; I leave it up to the pros. Remember that we hired the pros to do their job and to ask us to help when they need it. These terrorits want us to become deranged, paranoid yahoos. Personally, I'm continuing with my life. Remember, if a terrorist wants to get you, you will most likely be gotten. Wallow in numbers. And let the FBI get on with its job.

Of course not! I think they should focus *more* energy on national security in light of the WTC attacks/anthrax but we're still better off if other crimes are taken care of too

The FBI should keep their stormtroopers on a tighter leash. Many, many people, all innocent, will see an end to their liberties, to their freedoms, and to everything they hold dear because the Federal Bureau of INQUISITION is on a power crazed witch hunt for boogeymen.

Cops/FBI like low risk high profile busts. No body shoots at them and it gives the appearance they are doing something.

busterG -- If you've read a newspaper, or turned on a TV or radio anytime over the last few months, including right now, you'd know that the fact that Feds are cracking down on software piracy hasn't stopped them from going after Bin Laden's gang or the anthrax mailer(s). Software piracy is theft. If it's big enough, it could even be classified as economic terrorism.

Grow up, and get a life! :|
