Just thought people might want to show off their dvd collection.

Weird Science original release
Sixteen Candles original release
Silence of the Lambs criterion
Ultimate Jordan
Gettysburg

can't think of any more right now

The count is up to like 220 or so, even though my site only says 210 there are trilogies and stuff that are only counted as 1 dvd.

So what does everyone else have for a collection?

I think it's amazing when someone talks about having 200+ DVDs in their collection. That's a ton of money, especially when most towns have a Blockbuster or other rental stores around. I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm guessing you have at least 30 DVDs which you've seen twice or less. Probably some you've never watched.

I'm not knocking you, just commenting that I don't understand it and find it somewhat fascinating. To each their own.

BTW, I own about 10 DVDs. Most are concerts (Phish, Dave, Ben Folds, Wilco, etc). I have The Family Guy release from the US and the UK release from a couple years ago. And that's about it.

Every movie I have i've seen at least twice and wouldn't consider it otherwise. I mean that and some movies are sentimental favorites that you enjoyed as a kid. I don't have 200 DVDs but between my soon to be roommate and I we'll have like 270...a lot of duplicates

I rarely buy DVDs. Usually only if I find them used or some sort of hot deal. I only have 30 or so, but they are all good ones, to me atleast. And I've seen all of them more than once.

I think I'm just cheap. If there's a movie I want to see, I can call around town and rent it somewhere. Odds of me watching a movie twice is low. Odds of me buying a DVD and watching it multiple times is also very low. Thus, I just rent a movie when I want to see something.

I figure I need to watch a movie 2 or 3 times to get my money's worth. So, assuming I saw something in the theatre, watching it a total of 3 or 4 times is very highly unlikely to me.

My wife and I have about 50 DVDs so far, only because we didn't have a DVD player for a while. We've got about 250 VHS movies though. We've pretty much stopped buying VHS unless it's something that we definitely can't get on DVD.

We have got to stop going to Wal-Mart, though. The one by our house constantly has older movies on DVD for sale. The last time we bought DVDs from there, we walked out with about 8-10 DVDs including The Two Towers and the Animal House Double Secret Probation Edition....

my collection is about 160-170 movies. i do watch a lot them more than once. ive toned down my buying habits though. pretty much all the movies i checklisted for myself to own i eventually purchased. now i just patiently wait for new releases and purchase those.
