My friends (I'm in Phoenix now) were all wondering why I was bitching about seeing Millen on NBC...it pisses me off every time. You sit him next to Mike Holmgren and Tony Dungy and want me to believe that he's got even a shred of credibility to him? pfffft.

The first time I saw him as a commentator, I couldn't believe it. You really have someone who basically ran an organization into the ground for however many years he was in charge (8 I think?) giving his 'expert insight'? HA!

With awesome advice for the teams, such as "The number one rule in the NFL is to not beat yourself. Do that, and you will win", I would agree with you completely.....

I saw that live and thought it was hilarious. I'm not a huge fan of the Lions but why would I think he has any idea what he's talking about after what he did to them?

Well, if the Cardinals would have listened to him they just might have won...

Also did anyone find it odd that Mike Holmgren was second guessing Tomlin's decision not to go for it on 4th and one earlier in the game? Somebody needed to tell Mike he got his ass kicked in by the Steelers in his last Superbowl appearance.

"Somebody needed to tell Mike he got his ass kicked in by the Steelers in his last Superbowl appearance." I would hardly call that game an ass kicking - it was probably the worst officiated NFL game I've ever seen - Ben did not score on the 4th down play, and the holding on Locklear was phantom at best.

I completely agree that they should have gone for the score in that situation - if you don't make it, you've got the NFL's best d and the Cardinals starting off inside their own 1 yard line.

Mike Holmgren knows more about football than everyone on this board put together - his comments are valid.

That's how I knew the Steelers were going to win. Millen picked the Cards. That made it a lock for Pittsburgh.

Matt Millen is a poster boy of why you always give someone a second chance. And that's it.

But he apparently doesn't know more than Mike Tomlin.

Going for it and getting stuffed would have been devastating for momentum at that point in the game. They got 3 points, and those points could have easily been the difference.
