DACA is still back on track, they can reapply for EADs while SCOTUS hears the case. There's plenty of time to fix their issues, no need to spread the pain while doing so.

Why don't Trump's rich corporate donor friends pay for the wall instead of shutting down the government over it? He gave away over $1T in tax cuts to them. Surely corporations can afford to pitch in 1-2% of that windfall to build their benefactor's dream project. Especially if he promises to repay them as soon as Mexico sends the money.

You did know that it takes 60 votes in the Senate to pass an appropriation bill don't you? There's only 51 Republicans in the Senate, hopefully after the 2018 elections we can get 60, but i really doubt it.

Looks like some Republicans were genuinely surprised how far Schumer offered to go with Trump in their private meeting only to have Trump, once again, reject a deal after signaling that it might work. Kelly seems to have been a factor in the rejection too. Graham seems to have been right about his staff getting in the way of actual legislative productivity.

If no compromise can pass muster with the WH then what's the point of seeking their approval in the first place if you are Congress? Make some deals then just start sending bills and either it gets signed or vetoed. Put it entirely on the guys over there.
