Shutdown Problem with Iwill KK266

I've just Put a new system together Consisting of an An Antec SX1030B case with 300w power supply,
an Iwill KK266 Motherboard with 1.3 Thunderbird cpu and heatsink fan and i'm using Win 2000 pro OS.
Now initialy i had no problems getting the system up and running,installed a few basic programmes etc...then shut it down.Went back to it last night installed a couple of case fans and some more programmes.
Upon shutting down everything is OK so much as shut down is initiated,the screen goes black but after that the fans keep clicking on and off ,the green light remains on the power button of the case,the green light flashes on and off the CD/RW insync with the Red reset button of the case and the green lock lights of the Motherboard.
Ihave completely undone what i did last night by removing extra fans i put in and un installing every programme i put in that night to no avail.
So there you have it my learned freinds, Once you hit the power button again it fires up as normal as if windows had been completely shut down without scandisk or safe mode initiations.
So what have i got here, a power supply problem,a motherboard problem,an OS problem or still a software problem its one of those annoying problems i would like to resolve before installing any thing else on the system so let me thank you in advance for any light you may be able to shed on my dilemma.

that motherboard is the devil.... do not let it taint your system!

I had soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many problems wiht mine that i gave up and got an Epox

Perhaps you are using the 0515 (?) BIOS? There was a bug in that BIOS which caused those symptoms. Try flashing to a newer revision...

I agree with TruculentTucan. Iwill sucks. I have the kk266r. It design is defective and Iwill will not do anything for me. They had to redesign it, kk266r.
These people are not dependable. If it doesn't work, get rid of it immediately, because you'll be stuck with it like me. I can't even use it at all.
BTW, anyone want to buy a kk266r?...just don't use a geforce card with it.

I agree with Pabster.
I had two KK266 MBs that had the same problem after flashed with bios from May. Reflashed with April bios and problem was gone.

Eureeka! turned out to be the peripheral i had plugged into the USB port,i am having a problem activating the USB ports and had a peritheral plugged in ready which once removed solved my shut down problem.
Still have the USB issue though,went into BIOS and enabled USB then tried to load software that did not like WIN 2000 Pro so downloaded updated drivers from manufacturers website and still having problems.
I am told theres aflaky Bios out there and that i should flash the bios but IWILLS website does'nt give clear instructions on doing this.
Any info would be gretly appreciated,
