Shuttle motherboard won't boot

Just got my Shuttle AK31v3.1 mainboard up with an Athlon XP 1600+.
The hard drives and cdrom drives and fans all turn on fine. So does keyboard and mouse.

But, my monitor doesn't do anything...it's just a blank screen.
Anyone have some ideas?

try taking the board out of the case, and then very carefully reinstalling it. a similar thing happened to me and a careful remounting did the trick. remounting has worked for other people, as well.

Do you get any beeps from the computer?

EdipisReks: I'm using an Antec SX1040 case.

They give you brass studs that go to the mainboard.
Is there anything special I need to do with the screws? Should there be nylon washers between the studs and mainboard?


Rahminator: Nope no beeps at all.

Just the sounds of the hard drive and fans spinning up normally.
But no monitor activity at all.

Try reseating the DDR ram as well

my fong kai has brass studs too. just make sure that it is screwed in consistantly, and there is no part of the case touching the board. try resting the board on an antistatic bag outside of the case with everything plugged in and see if it works. if it works out of the case then you need to put it back in very carefully. you can try reseating the ram, too, but if you are having the same problem i was then the board should work if you take it out of the case.
