ive sure met many friendly and polite americans. it probably outweights the unfriendly by alot but i at least three to four unpolite, rude americans each day and it pisses me off when they come to CANADA..my country and start talking trash about it. how taxes suck, how our money is terrible, how everything is expensive this and that. either keep your comments to yourself or dont come here at all!

i would never or i doubt any other canadian go to the US and say "can i pay for this shirt with 'real money' (talking canadian money)"i betcha 100 bucks the cashier would look at you strange and not only that but think your a retard. only an american will say this crap and i hear time and time again.

Geeezz! Bigshot indeed!

I have the pleasure of working with many Canadians (who are involved in the production of that electricity you are so proud of) and they're the ones who complain about the high taxes, the decline in the exchange rate, and how expensive housing and durable goods are. And an American cashier working in an establishment that depended on Canadian tourism would take the Canadian money without caring what the customer might have just said, being gracious enough not to bite the hand that is feeding him/her.

Oh...and I think the US might just use its experience in Afganistan to subdue Canada. We'll just stir up the French Canadians in Quebec, rename them the "Nothern Alliance", provide them with massive air support (taking out that tank), and let them force you all to speak French.

Just kidding! But you really need to find a new job if tourists get under your skin so easily.

Holy Fvck, calm down children, why do these threads get started and why do they alwys end up wtih americans saying "well we dont like you so we will blow the crap out of ya" my god grow up, this is supposed to be a community of more intelligent people. We all know that the average person is a jerk and that there is too much of the average person wondering around aimlessly poking himself in the eye. Every country has its flaws and baseing complaints and arguments on say 1% of that country is stupid.

that would be one of the most ridiclous comments i have ever heard.
i would love to see US vs the World and the US would be down very fast and quickly...when you have russia, china, iran, iraq, india, canada, britian, and the rest of europe, japan, austarila shooting nukes till no end, millions and MILLIONS and then MORE MILLIONS and more millions of soldiers ready to fight then millions of aircrafts, naval etc ready for battle, all countries buying endless amount of war equipement the US would go down HARD and quick. An all out war between US vs the world. US would be down in less than a year. if you think the US has THAT powerful of an army your crazy. hell i think if US had a war with china it would not be over for years nevermind the world.

Heyhey 2 ridiculous post in one quote - nice...

In such a war everybody would loose - everybody would be dead or at least wish to be dead. nuclear wars are not winnable. thats why all nuclear arsenals need to be destroyed everywhere, cause sooner or later this will be the end.

back to the topic, c'mon man tourists are like that. especially tourists from a big country to a small. Im no different I guess.,..

I have only been to Vancouver, B.C. Man what a pretty city. Bigshot you should really make it out west though, I contracted out east myself and I must admit the people out there are different for the... well I don't want to say most part, but a portion of them, but anyway there is what we call here an "Eastern Mantality"

Drop down to Seattle or Portland, those are much more pretty places and the people have a more relax not in a hurry and stuck in their ways attitude.

He's probably given the same leeway that's given to Americans talking smack to Canada and its citizens?

I live in Canada and worked close to the border for a couple years doing retail and because of the tourism alot of americans come over.

everyday i dread going to work because of these yankees.

ex. Hey let me pull out some "funny money" to pay for this shirt. Or let me pay with some "real money" for this shirt. Like canadian money isnt real buddy? whats up these americans asses? everytime i hear this i shake my head in disgust

or what about "are these prices in AMERICAN dollars" NO man they arent...there in canadian cause YOU ARE IN CANADA. or what about "wow your taxes are high here were only have to pay a couple percent back in south" big deal, if you wanna be stubborn about taxes go back to your own gun wailing, no health care country.

and everytime i go down to american which is rarely i am disgusted on how cities look. I go down to buffalo to watch a hockey game and the whole city is like wood. everything is bordered up, closed down, ghetto style. rarely do you see this in canada. hell ottawa and montreal have a huge population and are one of the cleanest cities in canada.
well thats the end of my rant of americans...please if your gonna come over be polite and us canadians will be polite as well, but dont bring your egos over here how you think your king sh!t to us when really your not.

I've been to Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Kingston last summer on a trip and I'm from California. Seriously, you need to get out more. Canadian cities might be cleaner (from my experience) but generalizing Americans like that is ignorant. Hell, I think Montreal is one of the ghettoest city I've been to. (at least in north american continent)

Why do we need stupid health care from the government? Do you even know where sales tax go here? I don't know how it works over there but i know you charge a 14% sales tax. I've heard many Canadians b!tch about how America steals the smarts from Canada but get over it, we have more opportunities and we're not socialistic like y'all.

as for invasion of Canada, FYI 90% (or something) of the canadian population lives within the 100 mile from the US border, you expect the rest 10% to do anything about an invasion? laf

not that i'm dissing canada, just that sometimes people are too ignorant to see the big picture.

Well, bigshot, I can't agree with you. Why don't you like Americans? It's my firm belief that all the people, be they Americans, Canadians or of any other nation, are all the same. Yes, they speak different languages and dress differently and have different amount of income to live on but heck all the people are the same. And life is pretty much the same everywhere. To say 'we', to distinguish yourself as belonging to this or that group or nation and bashing of other groups is a major mistake one can make.

I think all the people in modern world, be they Canadians or not, are very dangerous and I can hardly say I have any friends even in my home town. But for sure I have tons of enemies in the form of neighbors who live next door to me and people in far far countries. What I see are people who can possibly harm me and do me no good, I realize that.

Thus, bigshot, when you say you're 'tired of Americans', how do you know your 'fellow' Canadian neighbor isn't sick and tired of you and hates you to madness? It's a cruel and ruthless world, and please next time you start a rant about Americans or whoever, pls think twice.

Best and friendly wishes,

Booster

I like people who make an effort to be kind, thoughtful, and compassionate... people who understand that life is precious and that we are on a very small planet indeed... no matter what their nationality.

I tend to stay away from people who are negative, angry, and focus on the flaws in others rather than try to work on improving themselves... who don't realize that we really are all in this together and we should be good to each other... no matter what their nationality.

I know, it's horrible with all the people over here wandering the streets because they couldn't see a doctor. Seriously, everyone here can get medical treatment if they want it. I've never heard of doctors kicking someone out of a hospital simply because they didn't have enough money. It's not perfect, but what is? Besides, I wouldn't criticize us, we can blow you up.

Heathcare for ALL americans would be too costly. I think the only reason Canada can do it is because they have a lower population. But, on the flip side, most Americans pay for their own health insurance. I know I do

If you are going to criticize, at least learn how to form a sentence correctly. Next, if we didn't police the world, you wouldn't enjoy the free health care you do. Your government would be spending health care money on doing the job we do for you.

Wow, I was gonna come into this thread in complete disagree, but I agree with your first couple paragraphs of examples, that would piss me RIGHT OFF! no respect! too bad that is however, not all the US citizens, only a select few a$$holes. so you can't generalize quite like that.. but that is indeed stupid, that would make me very mad.

You have to remember that Americans are generally speaking a very emotionally immature and unsophisticated people. Because they don't have some of the things you mentioned, like health care, and can see the boarded up cities to remind them they are one pay check from living on the streets, they have high anxiety levels. That in turn produces histeria in the fact of conflict. So throw them into a new and unfamiliar situation, a new country, and they revert to their least common denominator. Because they are unsophisticated, they are transparent. Everything they experience comes right out of their mouths. Since American capitalism is basically one American trying to screw another every American walks around with the feeling somebody's out to get him. When he reaches for his wad and sees a Monopoly game from his childhood the tension of not being in control, the uncertainty how much he is paying and the feeling that it is too much automatically causes him to squeel out, how much is that in play or real money, to which he then begins to giggle uncontrolably, the tension again, thinking that he has just uttered the most original and brilliant joke in history. The tax thing is the same story. It comes from the feeling caused by a competitive environment of being raped.

But while Americans are reduced to idiocy by foreign travel, because of their general characterists and the rarity of experience, at home they can be counted to donate to charity, provide relief aid, and in general do more for the heedy of the world that any body else. And like most other Americans I'm stupid enough to be glad I am one.

And here I was thinking that most nuns didn't have internet access...

LOL! A nun I am most certainly not. More likely to be burned at the stake is more like it....

We can control how we respond to others. If you don't like the way someone is behaving, the only thing you can about it is change the way you respond to them. If you respond in a constructive way, you are more likely to get a positive response in return. If you respond in a negative, destructive way... you are just part of the problem.

Evolve or devolve.
