Can't it filter by the user's id?

Feel free to reverse engineer the output of fusetalk if you like, it's harder than it might sound.

Well you could just look for this:
<a href="javascript:winopen('tombstone.aspx?ProfileID=ANYNUMBER','profileview','560','490');"><img src="i/authorsicons/ANYSTRING.GIF" border="0" alt="Author Icon"></a>
<br>

<b>USERNAME</b><br>

go ahead and modify my code, it's freely available, make it better and post yours.

Classy, have you never heard of a killfile?

For all intents and purposes, that's all this is, and it's nothing new.

We should have a pool to see when particular users are added to the script. I'm fairly sure the resident neocons will be putting my name on one fairly quickly.

He's been torn apart in every thread he attempts to "debate". A lieing little child who's only reason is to troll every single thread on this forum really isn't welcome.
It's no longer him stateing his opinions, it's him intentionally writing posts that play into this alter ego he created on this forum in order to straight up troll. It was amusing for a couple weeks, now it's just tiresome.

Yea but thats not my point? That is part of the freedom of posting, its not all good. But its really small to make a script to remove a person's posts. No offense but if someone's life is that impacted by what they read on forum board, forget the damn script, that person needs some freaking counseling, seriously, no pun or sarcasm at all.
There is no "freedom" of posting on this forum.
I see no problem if someone wants to run a script to remove all of a certain users posts. I wouldn't say that person's life is impacted by another user, but their time on the forum is.
It has nothing to do with personal life, self-esteem or need for counseling, that is totally cliche.

When you have a complete tool like JL that goes into every thread and intentionally plays into this pigeon-hole role and ruins threads I can see how it's frutrating. Basically what notfred coded is a feature that has been implemented into just about every single chat medium in exitance the /ignore feature. It's worked wonders for years before this software or this forum ever existed. So I just see it as a user implemented feature that has been missing from this particular forum software.

Yes, it will remove that post, and yes, it's probably possible to only remove stuff based on the author column.
That would be a better implementation imho.

That really bothers me - the fact that everyone's coming in and badmouthing him when he's not even on.

Regardless of who it is, I'd hate to see any regular posters getting intentionally snubbed by a majority of the forums, maybe in part because it means it could happen to me, or anyone.
If I remember correctly you weren't rushing to the aid of syringer, or texmaster, or dennil.... or jerboy or any number of other members. Just an observation.

I find this sad. I shouldn't really threadcrap, but I do not condone this. Not one bit.

 I compeletely agree. The best answer to dealing with people you disagree with is never putting your hands on your ears and yelling "lalalala"

This really seems like a childish move notfred.

Nothing personal though.

Most of us don't really know 99% of the people we argue with and talk trash to on the internet. And to to be dominated by it where it affects your life is just sad and it is not healthy. To be so impacted by a persons post to the point where you write a script to get rid of the persons posts is distrubing. And I am serious about that.

What an insightful post... like all of your posts

It doesn't matter how you feel. But I got sense enough to know not to take this stuff seriously. Its a good laugh and outlet. I have had my disagreements plenty with Amused, but I don't know him personally and while in my posts I may want to slap him around, in no way shape or form would I ever wish him or his family harm in real life. And no matter how you slice it, if a persons posts bother you that much, you need to take a break because your letting this stuff take hold of your life. There has never been a day in my life where I spent 3 minutes thinking about someone's posts unless I was reading and arguing at that time. Its not real and if you take it as such your a fool.

Personally I don't actually want to block anyone's post. I find JLGatsby hilarious in a pathetic kind of way, and I think the way you make nearly everything about race is pretty hilarious too. But I can see why someone would rather ignore someone than tread their trolling BS. It's not so much that they think about him when they're not reading the forums, it's that they don't want to think about him when they ARE reading the forums.

Or maybe, just maybe, when someone checks the forums at the end of a long day, he doesn't want to have to bother to manually ignore everything someone says and so he chooses to write some software that does this transparently. It's the same reason that we have locks on our doors and that we don't let the Jehova's Whitnesses into our homes for tea.

True, but in my defense, I haven't been the most regular of forum members; but I can't dismiss your observation about my hypocracy - but if I do recall, I think most members were present/others were in their defense.

I was just suprised and troubled everyone rushed to flame him and praise the OP for his work - impressive as it is, and as others stated it may have been a built-in feature in some other message boards, but this "public hanging" mentality of the posters and the method he used to announce his work (although, realistically, I don't see another way he could have done this) doesn't sit right with me, maybe "anymore".

Anyone who likes olives deserves to have their tounge cut out.

Olives are the most disgusting food ever.
If this is meaningless to you, why bother reading his posts?

If you don't read his posts why does it matter if they're visible or not?

You do realize that half the people that posted in this thread can't see your post?

I'll admit my noobism if you tell me what the whole "DF thing" is.

I'm not going to install it (I'm not easily annoyed, even by JLGatsby ), but it really makes me laugh that you went to such trouble to make a script
