Hi, I have a celeron 600 on an abit be6-II. I'm having numerous problems with this board when attempting to install new hardware and/or OS's. I am contemplating buying a new mobo + cpu, and I was excited about the prospect of getting a 1.33 T-bird on a DDR board. However after reading the reviews, I noticed that there arent any real winners among the DDR boards, and that on the best one, the DDR is only 10% than SDRAM. It is however extremely cheap.. $64 for 256 MB of DDR from Crucial. That being said, a Duron system with PC133 SDRAM doesn't seem to be much slower and it's a lot cheaper (I already have 256MB of CAS2 PC133 mem from Crucial). My question is, if I wait up to 5 months, will there be something exciting coming out? Is the palomino a huge improvement over the current t-birds? Will there be awesome mobo's/chipsets coming out?
My number one and two concerns are stability and performance.
