It will, but you may have to apply the workaround I detailed, if the modules are pre-version-1.1. Like Newegg, Googlegear sells a lot of RAM, so I'd think you'd be getting version 1.1.

dude, it is the memory. get crucial every time, and buy it direct from crucial.com. don't skimp on this--bad memory is why you get page faults and BSOD.

I'm using the ASUS A7N8X DELUXE, and have not noticed any issues at all. I'm using OCZ 512 PC2700 DDR Cas 2 2-2-5 1T with copper spreaders 1 stick for the moment and no issues. Dunno why someone said OCZ memory is crap runs great and my system is very stable. Also someone said something about not using the Serial ata drivers if u don't have a drive. Well I installed XP and the Serial ATA drivers using my IDE hard drive and no problems. I didn't know how to disable the Serial ATA until after about a week of usage. Right now serial ATA is disabled and Nvidia lan port is disabled.

The only issue I've had was when using a Promise ATA100 controller card for my CDRW and DVDROM. I couldn't burn over 10x on my 32x10x40 LG burner.
I put the CDRW on the secondary IDE channel onboard and my HD is on the primary onboard IDE. kept my DvDROM on the controller card and that resolved that small issue.
Now everything is how I intended it to be all IDE devices are on there own channel with nothing sharing!

I have bios 1001.C which came with the board.

Most stable Athlon board I've had yet, and runs greats.

I am using A7N8X with 2400+ also, 11.5 X 190FSB Sync mode rock stable, both Samsung PC2100 and Crucial PC2100 RAMs reach 200FSB on this board. Check My Thread of this board with Crucial PC2100 RAMs.

This is definately a memory error. I know because I had a bad stick that caused similar results. (It was crucial ECC ram though)

Y'know this just occurred to me...have you tried installing with the sticks you have seperately?

Chances are very high that you only have one defective stick of RAM(I definately agree with the rest of the posters...this IS a RAM issue) that is preventing you from running XP. You should be able to test your system with only one of the sticks installed...This should show you which one is causing you problems. Also, if you know anyone with a working computer that supports DDR RAM, see if you can put the RAM you have into their computer and see what the effects are. These are the best and easiest ways to isolate your problem; RMA'ing anything is a huge pain in the butt. I hope you get this ironed out bro, I have an n8x dx and it is a wonderful board. It worked the first time, and is incredibly stable and powerful.

Best of luck

The nForce2 motherboards are very sensitive regarding memory, and although many people do recommend generic memory (which can be a bit of a lottery; sometimes you may get some wonderful WinBond chips, which will overclock nicely, other times you may get some crap that barely works at stock speed) the nForce2 boards will hate you forever or using it

Also, some Corsair memory has some serious problems wiht the board, as you have read from the replies above. If you do have any problems withit, I personally recommend Samsung Original, as I'm running Samsung Original PC2700 with 4-2-2-2T timings on my A7N8X Deluxe with no stability problems whatsoever in sync with my processor for best performance. Unfortunately my 2200+ is still locked, so it's only running at 266Mhz at the moment

I'm avoiding physically tampering with my processor, because there's meant to be a new BIOS revision coming out soon that'll unlock it for me. Or at least that's the one that Anandtech were using. If anyone there would have the heart to extract it from the board and send it to me, I might be willing to trade my soul in for it

Have you checked to see if your CPU is overheating? I had very similar symptoms to what you are describing and it turned out that my CPU was overheating because the fan on my heatsink had been installed backwards and wasn't blowing air away from the heatsink.

Go into the bios and check to see what temperature your CPU is running at.
