Also I know where you were attempting to go with the breast cancer, but it is still apples and oranges. Jada was never at risk of dying from her condition. The breast cancer survivor had to have her body altered to save her life. There is a lot of pent up fear, grief, and pain wrapped into that experience. Even then, many women that have been through it can find humor in it, as my grandmother used to.
And if you don't approve of the "missing breast" analogy how about suggesting a better one if you have it? The essence of communication is having the other party understand what you meant and in that sense it works.
