The SPLC and ADL are now censoring social media for big brother. Years ago I warned that Silicon Valley was not what people thought it was, and now its proven true. This is the Silicon Valley left demonstrating they hold to none of the principles of the founders, freedom of speech is to them a mere inconvenience as they cannot compete on the marketplace of ideas. For all the talk of russian interference and fake news, these people prove they are not concerned with the principle, just who is doing the rigging. Proving the case, they are not to be trusted with the 1st let alone the 2nd amendment, and are unfit to lead.

Zero strike account Sargon of Akkad taken down simply out of spite, all part of a wave of censorship in the wake of the Florida shooting.

The SPLC is an organization so biased and deranged it went after Ayaan Hirsi Ali because apparently blasphemy is now a hate crime, of course only if done against Islam.

Imagine you own and operate a newspaper. Every week, a business pays you to show advertisements for an elixir that will cure cancer.

For how long do you allow that business to give you money to rip people off? Why, exactly, shouldn't that newspaper stop accepting fraudulent advertisements, if it so chooses? Is it a "first amendment" right for that business to actively defraud the newspapers' readers with those advertisements? Is it a "first amendment" violation for the private newspaper to stop accepting advertisements from a business actively defrauding its own customers? Can a private newspaper stop accepting advertisements from a business simply because it doesn't want those advertisements, regardless of reason?

Where, and how, exactly, is the government limiting the free speech rights of the business?

So the industry has thus far failed to find a happy medium between freedom of speech and suppressing hate. They abhor government regulation, so they've enlisted outside help to test new algorithms in a lab. Why is this a bad thing? Government isn't stepping on any toes here. If it doesn't work, the industry will try something else. If users get pissed, then platforms such as Gab might see growth and eventually reach a critical mass.
