das linky

Dual ATSC/clear-QAM networked tuners, wors with just about every media center type setup out there. About the lowerst price I've ever seen new...and you don't get much (if any) lower used.

I seriously doubt clearqam will be pulled... they've been saying that for quite a while.

With the change to SDV QAM may actually be going away. My HDHomerun is mothballed, waiting the Ceton 4 tuner CableCard device.

Clear Qam isn't going anywhere. CableCo's are required to brodcast the locals they carry in HD via Clear QAM as long as the person has a cable package.

yep at the very least you will still get your local ota digitals over a more stable connection. we pay less with the basic basic basic (like bottom 25 channels) and internet than with just internet. and right now we have a mix of cable channels coming in clear-qam also.

Some CableCos in the country that have already made the switch to SDV have a solution. They offer everyone a free cable box. This has already happened in some places, so you guys saying it won't....

That sucks. I hope that takes a long time to roll out.

True, But Local HD stations must still be carried in Clear QAM and not be switched if the provider brodcasts that channel at all. And they must make them available without the need of a box.

FCC can make any demand they want, cableco compliance to the said requirements, and ultimately their forced compliance may come long AFTER.

Media Center works great.

This is one of the best tuners on the market because of the flexibility.

Great price for a great piece of hardware. Because it is an ethernet device, the HDhomerun works with every major HTPC set-up. Got it to work with SageTV on Windows, MythTV on Linux, and EyeTV on Mac (what I stuck with). They don't develop software for it, but even something basic like VLC can tune into it due to its open nature. Its dual tuners get WAY better OTA reception than my HDTV does by itself, and on Linux it even has an IR port Lirc can use.

I have had one for a year and it does a great job tuning in OTA channels. Honestly I got it to work with my local cable company for a QAM setup at first, but honestly this kind of device is the thing you bolt onto an HTPC with Usenet/RSS torrent feeds to get local sports and all your favorite shows without needed to pay through the nose for digital HD cable packages.

It's showing $144.00 right now for me. Anyone else getting $144.00?

I have a $25 reward coupon from Amazon, and $129 - $25 would have been perfect.

Yeah looks like it went up, $144 is still pretty good for this thing--generally $140 seems to be the lower threshold for it.

They continually improve their software unlike some companies and have fantastic support. Mapping may be a pain but a solution is being rolled out if you use Windows Media Center.

I agree, support and updates are unrivaled by ANY other hardware manufacturer. It's a great piece of hardware. It's just not useful for me anymore.
