So he still paid $60 for simcity.
Not really considering how much crap I buy from Amazon.

$15.00 Marina found in game's code (edit: allegedly, Reddit comments say that the account who posted the pic is deleted and no one else has confirmed it). Could be fake, could be a dev posting the truth. Personally it seems kinda high, $1.50 and I'd believe it.
In case you guys didn't see it in the other thread(s).

I sure hope that it isn't true or that the decimal point is in the wrong spot.
About a year ago, most retailers had sim city 4 deluxe in their budget bin for $5. Chances are they are probably still floating around. I got mine at an office depot.
How's the traffic fix working out for you guys?
I've heard that the sims go to work while waiting for a bus, their job gets taken while on the bus, and then they trip out or such. Not sure if that's actually true.
The screenshot has Lorem Ipsum, so of course pricing isn't final. Besides, who's going to pay $15 for a virtual boat?
Given how mediocre the actual gameplay is and the virtual promise of $$$costing additions, it's going to have to hit sub 15 before I'm even interested.
Price is already down to 39.99 in weekly sale flyers.
Sounds like its overpriced by $38.99.
It'll get exactly 1 patch, then all the rest of the updates will be DLCs. Gone are the days of constant patching for a game. The only games that get more than 1-2 patches now are MMORPGs and the odd ball here and there.
The industry has moved to a model of "We don't give a fuck about our customers, just blame the pirates".
:\I bought the game yesterday knowing full well of these issues. However, I wanted Dead Space 3 and because Target had it on sale for 39.99, I figured, heck, why not. I am only paying $9.99 for it that way, since Dead Space 3 was on sale for $29.99.
The game itself isn't bad, but it is definitely named incorrectly. It should be called 'Sim Town' because that is how small the city limits are. It is still a lot of fun, but definitely less complicated (in some ways) than Sim City 4. I played the tutorial and probably worked on a city for about 1 hour.
For $9.99 I am ok with it. If I paid more? Not sure yet. But if I lost a city that I put a ton of effort into? Yeah, I'd probably be as pissed as some of you.

The immense complexity was one of the things I loved about SC4. So many different structure effects, the willingness of Sims to inhabit certain things changed as the city grew, revenue per Sim changed, loads of transportation options...so many different things going on there.
Will Wright has previously stated in an interview on May 16, 2003, that there would probably be more expansion packs after Rush Hour,[32] but none have ever been released. In another interview on May 22, 2004, Wright stated that Maxis was attempting to work out a "new direction" for SimCity after new versions had become "steadily more complex".[31]
Two SimCity games for PC have followed SimCity 4. The first was SimCity Societies, which was developed by Tilted Mill Entertainment and released on November 13, 2007.[33] The second was SimCity, which was announced on March 2012 and was released in March 2013.[34]
SimCity kind of worked itself into a corner, [because] we were still appealing to this core SimCity group. It had gotten a little complicated for people who had never played SimCity. We want to take it back to its roots where somebody who had never heard of SimCity can pick it up and enjoy playing it without thinking it was really, really hard.
