I am going to keep bumping this thread until the "A and 2" answer beats the "A and 1" answer...

Ok maybe I won't seeing how too many ppl are picking A and 1.

******, I voted A & 1, then realized it doesn't matter if trhere's a consonant on the other side of the 1... but if a vowel is on the other side of the 2, that makes the statement wrong.

Yes, many times throughout this thread.

Flip over Card A to see if there is an odd or even # b/c the result can make or break the statement.

Flip over Card 2 to see if there is a Vowel or Consanant b/c the result can make or break the statement.

No need to flip Card B b/c the statement is not concerned about consanants.

No need to flip Card 1 b/c it can have vowel or consanant on the other side.

Basically your options are this:

I've listed all the possible cards below, it has on the left side the "showing" side, and then the "hidden" side after.

Showing/Hidden

Vowel/Odd - True Statement
Vowel/Even - False Statement
Consanant/Odd - Neither proves nor disproves statement
Consanant/Even - Neither proves nor disproves statement
Odd/Vowel - Neither proves nor disproves statement
Odd/Consanant - Neither proves nor disproves statement
Even/Vowel - False Statement
Even/Consanant - True Statment

Yes.

If A then B doesn't not imply If B then A. It's only a one way statement.
It does not mean B can ONLY happen if A. So just because there's an ODD doesn't mean there has to be a vowel.

So If VOWEL then ODD does not mean if ODD then VOWEL.

THis means that if there's a Consonant on one side, the other side doesn't matter. And if there's an EVEN on one side, then the other side CANNOT be a vowel.

So...

A has to be flipped to make sure there's an ODD
B doesn't matter beacuse it's not a consonant so it doesn't apply to the statement.
1 doesn't matter because it's ODD. Vowels or consonants can have an ODD. Only the vowels HAVE to but consonants can just the same.
2 has to be fliiped to make sure the other side is NOT a Vowel. If it is it breaks the statement.

Wait... why isn't it "A"

In a programming language, wouldn't it select only the ones with letters, then select the only one with a vowel, and then only see if it is linked to an odd number, therefore proving the test true? I think I'm thinking too hard...

Because what if there's an A on the other side of the 2...

Here's another analogy/example. Look at this statement.

If you have a square, then it's a rectangle. That is true. However, if I reversed it:

If you have a rectangle, then you have a square. That is not true 100% of the time. You can have a rectangle that isn't a square.

Now take our original logic statement.

If you have a vowel on one side, then you have an odd on the other. If that statement is true...then saying:

If you have an odd on one side, you have a vowel on the other is not true 100% of the time. You can have an odd number on one side and not have a vowel on the other. It could be vowel or consanant.
