simple question about changing processors

My current pc (that I built) has an epox 8k7a mb with a duron 750. I might inherit a duron 900 or 1 gig processor. Could I simply pull out the d750 and install the new processor and reboot? Are there any problems that might pop up?

No, you should be able to just swap them and the board will detect the new CPU.
As always be careful not to do any damage removing and attaching fans.

You might have to goto the bios setup and change the settings. Extra caution would say to clear the cmos with the jumper before booting with the new processor to get rid of the old multiplier/fsb settings, but since this is an upgrade you're not going to burn it out by having it boot at a higher speed than it should.
