With the amount of rice I have sitting around (white and jasmine), I was wondering if anyone has some EASY ways to flavor it up?

Take one run of the mill Honda Civic. Add Altezza tail lights, stickers, a giant wing on the back, stupid looking body kit, lower to ground-scraping levels and add a fart-sounding exhaust with a pipe the size of a coffee can. Presto!
Errrr...wrong rice. Sorry
That sounds really good. I'm not too partial to tomato juice, though.Originally posted by: Rudee
Step 1: Make a nice tomato rice by boiling rice in tomato juice instead of water.
Step 2: Fry up about a dozen small prawns in garlic butter, chives and cillantro.
Step 3: Pour garlic prawns over rice then serve.
Enjoy!
Don't use fresh-cooked rice. Day-old rice is ideal - and if you have leftover rice, then this is what you can make.Originally posted by: nativesunshine
Simple fried rice:
Throw in 1-2 eggs in wok (or whatever you use to fry eggs with)...scramble it a bit..while it is still runny...throw in the scallions....(their onion-like flavored..so they'll make the fried rice smell a whole lot better).
Before the eggs cook ALL the way..throw in about 2-3 small bowls of rice. Add a bit of salt. Mix everything up...wait til the rice browns a bit (but make sure eggs don't burn)..and voila...instant fried rice.
You could also add other kinds of vegetables and stuff (beef or chicken?) for more flavor...ie: peas, carrots...or even real onions instead of scallions. Whatever floats your boat.
EDIT: oh yea..thought it'd be a given..but just in case: the rice has to be steamed and cooked ALREADY prior to throwing in w/ the eggs and stuff. Yep.
