Surplus M1 Garands from the US government and there have been a spate of milsurps coming in from the former Soviet bloc countries in the past ten years. They may be old and not as pretty but they're good buys and built to last. Though some of them never been used.

Certainly better than any Chinese knock-off made from the same quality of metal used on Christmas tree ornament hooks.

Would you like me to find a more reliable rifle to protect my gardens/homestead?

Wow, you are still posting huh?

When did you get this crazy about the world ending?

BTW, you are producing carbon dioxide while you are alive, ever heard of a thing called respiration?

Nice touch on all the flame bait, though.

My bait is big and bloody.

But at the core I care and make it my goal to survive what is coming.

I knew that the world couldn't sustain itself when I was farming (I was in my early 20s, about 10 years agao). I saw what it took to feed the world and I realized that it wasn't sustainable. Though I'm still buying my beans at safeway.

After googling "Sardonic", nope.

Ironic, maybe. Having many semsters in chem just for electives? Absolutely. But that was a long time ago.

What the hell does your history of taking chem 201 have to do with this?

Energy consumption is indispensable to our standard of living and a necessity for the Army to carry out its mission. However, current trends are not sustainable. The impact of excessive, unsustainable energy consumption may undermine the very culture and activities it supports.

Have fun. Just don't insult me like that again.

Organic/biological and above were electives above the 3 semesters of required.

My bud has a degree in Entymology and I make fun of him all the time

If you post replies that are inane, I'll make fun of your post.

"PEAKING OF WORLD OIL PRODUCTION: IMPACTS, MITIGATION, & RISK MANAGEMENT
Robert L. Hirsch, SAIC, Project Leader Roger Bezdek, MISI Robert Wendling, MISI February 2005

DISCLAIMER This report was prepared as an account of work sponsored by an agency of the United States Government. Neither the United States Government nor any agency thereof, nor any of their employees, makes any warranty, express or implied, or assumes any legal liability or responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information, apparatus, product, or process disclosed, or represents that its use would not infringe privately owned rights. The views and opinions of authors expressed herein do not necessarily state or reflect those of the United States Government or any agency thereof.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The peaking of world oil production presents the U.S. and the world with an unprecedented risk management problem. As peaking is approached, liquid fuel prices and price volatility will increase dramatically, and, without timely mitigation, the economic, social, and political costs will be unprecedented. Viable mitigation options exist on both the supply and demand sides, but to have substantial impact, they must be initiated more than a decade in advance of peaking."

So what's your point? Mitigation and risk management are always sound principles.

I see nothing in that summary that doesn't tell me to produce more life giving carbon.

Again, what part of thermodynamics do you not get?

The global warming activists will have to respond to the td argument.

My concern is the supply of easy hydrocarbon energy. Thermodynamics has nothing to do with the global containment of oil.

Am I selfish, yes I am. In the end when it comes down to me and you, I will always pick me.
Now get the fvck out of my way.

yep half the problem of america right there... to be honest though, at least you are honest about it... why can't politicians come out and say this if this is how they feel?

Because a majority of America's poplulation can't survive without cheap fuel, food, and energy.

When SampSon can't buy food at the local supermarket he'll understand what "self-sufficency" means-and he'll do whatever it takes to acquire food for his family. He's a parasite.

I don't understand why you wouldn't want to curtail your production of Carbon Dioxide.

Burning hydrocarbon based fuel, unless it is ablsolutely necessary, is foolish-and is what you are doing.

As I said before-you lifers are wankers-at least those of you that posted like idiots.

The sky is falling and you douche bags that live on the coasts will have a some fun kayaking in your underwear

You sound like the freaking Unabomber.

However you grid me is irrelevant.

I honestly don't care if you make it through the energy shortage that we're now going to move through.

I'll be building up my homestead and run sustainablility courses from Evergreen.

There's only a few of you that I'll hold my hand out to on this forum-you're not one of them g1.
