Ah, the Diamond Stealth II S220. My first 3D card as well! I think it was only 4 Meg. The Creative Thriller 3D was 8 Meg. Rendition had the best image quality in the business back then.

yes. For example, in the "which is a bigger disapointment" thread:

Do keep in mind though that the GeForce FX was originally supposed to be out around the time frame of the 9700 Pro launch...so I'm not TOO surprised about the benches. I mean, NVIDIA can't work magic.

Most people would consider a huge delay an INCREASE in the disapointment value, not DECREASE.

(not that i'm complaining, it's nice to have a balance of fanatics to keep things interesting )

Because the Saphire 9700 is only $236 shipped from Newegg.
That would really hit the spot if it can hit pro speeds.

i'd say close to 85% of non pro owners have gotten to at least 300/300

and the people that got 2.8 ns ram (supposedly what is on this card) have been able to go higher than stock pro speeds

using the non pro overclocking bios

at default non pros are clock locked

i ordered mine today same card same place

i got a Dell 2000 FP 20" LCD a month and a half ago

LOL, the first thing I did when I opened the box was take out the little Mini R/C car and start playing with it. That thing is fast as hell!!!!! Way cool

I just stuck the Radeon in my system to check and make sure that it was a full "Pro" level card before going for a full clean install. Sure enough, it shows up as 324/310.50

I'll be back later on tonight with benchmark numbers and overclocking tests.

Man, I have to get one of those... (the mini r/c car) I think I'll go to Radio Shack tonight.


Good luck with the overclocking, mine does 395 core and 345 memory. I'm thinking of getting a better cooler and ramsinks so I can hit 400/350. (I like round numbers)

Well, got all my shiznit loaded back on and have been playing BF1942 and Il-2 with uber FSAA and Aniso setting....man is it gorgeous
