wieid idea....but doesn't each battery give out different levels of power? I don't see how this thing can compensate.

I think I need to make a new purchase of NiMh 1800 batteries... as I gave them away, lost and so on...
And a charger!

What's the best deal(s) on line that you are referring to?

If you want adaptors, I'd suggest you pick up the Panasonic deal at Big Lots. In addition to the charger and batteries you get a C adaptor and D adaptor that are powered by inserting several AA batteries into the adaptor. Same voltage but higher amperage.

I don't think that you add more than one battery to those adapters you got from Big Lots. And you only get two of each (2) C and (2) D so I think this post is great. I just ordered a bunch of adapters. Thanks tommytran

OK, I'm not a battery expert. If I take one of my AA 1800 MAH NIMH's and put it in a D device with the D adapter, how much quicker would it go dead? Are there liekly to be any D devices that my AA Nimh's couldn't power? Would I ever need to buy D batteries again?

Also checkout Dollar Tree. They have this same adapter kit. You get two sets of AA/AA to C/D adapters for $1.00.

These are adapters OK if you are using them in low current devices, but they do not provide any lasting power compared to standard C/D cell Alkalines. Another problem is that they are made out of plastic with metal contacts. If you use them for prolonged periods in high curent devices, the metal contact will get very hot and melt the plastic adapter. I have already melted two sets in flashlights. One was from Dollar tree and the other from the Big Lots Panasonic deal. If you really have a serious need for NIMH C/D cells, you should get actually C/D NiMHs instead of these adapters.
