I've just completed a long private message exchange with another user who wanted to remain anonymous, and she was very enlightening.

I am very sorry for any harsh words I used in your previous topic "GUYS ONLY: Who has been the most attractive girl you've dated?". My actions were uncalled for and completely out of line. There are obviously many types of people out there, and I don't have any right to make premature judgements or assumptions about any of them - especially on those I have never met. I did do that, and I'm truly sorry for my rude behavior.

I really hope that you accept my apology, especially Elemental007, as I would like to be a good Anandtech citizen.

I can go to work at the mall and come home with three or four phone numbers in a night - AND I NEVER approach the girls or ask; they always come to me.

When I go off to college I'll probably be in a frat, I dunno, people like you are the reasons that a bunch of my college friends didn't go into them. In other words, people like you fvck up a good thing.

I don't know what the guy originally said, but all things taken into consideration, why can't you forgive the guy? His apology sounds pretty sincere. That's really immature that a long detailed I'm sorry isn't enough for you. What do you want the guy to do? There is only so much he can do on a message board. Elemental007 - Look, I know I was out of line. I'm not trying to justify it. There was some stuff behind it that doesn't matter, and I really am sorry.

As far as the fraternity thing, I was a member of one of the most &quot;prominent&quot; ones on campus. There were some nice &amp; fun loving guys, and there were some drunken idiots. I was always somewhere in the middle. The other day when I posted, I was more the latter. And I do apologize.

If you can't forgive me, I accept that. All I can do is try to be a better member here, which I fully intend to do.

I'm not going to flame fdiskboy, but I've said it before and I'll say it again: the right fraternity at the right school can be a good thing and a great experience.

I know that fraternities and their members have one of the worst reputations of any groups on earth, a lot of which has been deserved, especially in the past. Unfortunately, many of them still reinforce the stereotypes, but I hate it when people generalize.

I did not &quot;buy my friends&quot; when I was in a fraternity. In fact, many of the people I joined with were already my friends, and we paid dues that were used for the benefit of the chapter.

I am sure there are many other things everyone thinks they know about &quot;all&quot; fraternities.
I can honestly refute most of the stereotypes from personal experience.
