Sinus Surgery Post Op Visit

I am noticing that things now have more powerful odors/aromas.

Foods have a more enticing aromas.

Certain perfumes on the fairer sex are more alluring,

My son smells like lavendar after the wife gives him a bath.

and now the opposite side of things

Smokers have the foulest stench about them, makes me want to wretch. How can you stand yourselves?

People with body odors are just as bad, take a flipping shower. The smell of arse mixed with pit smell is as rancid as smell as I have ever smelled.

Diesel engines and poorly tuned engines produce a gas that is irritating, as in like breathing in sandpaper, to my newly scoured sinus passages.

People wearing too much cologne/perfume, makes me feel as if I am suffocating.


And this is just what I noticed as the wife took me to the pharmacy to refill my prescriptions. I was reclining in the car after having the packing and stitches removed. I can just imagine what my first day back at work will be like.

Well: most health food stores have some kind of "nasal irrigator", which use a diluted (pure) salt & water solution to help clean out clogged sinuses.
Less drastic than surgery!

Yes, I had pollups removed.

The irrigation was not working because of all the junk that had accumulated in there. Plus I had to have the turbinates removed/reshaped.

I had that done about 2 years ago. Also had to have some cartlidge removed because i had broke my nose like 5 times and never had it set right.

Also had my tonsils out at the same time heh.

The worse part of the surgery was them pulling out the cotton swaps the next day. felt like they were trying to pull my brain out.

but i agree you can smell soo much better. My asthma is also better. Long as i remember to take my flonase i can breath a LOT better also.

I also sleep a whole lot better at night! so does my wife because i do not snore so much heh.

I had the tonsil, adnoids removed as well, plus they did throat reconstruction, opening my airway about 50% more. The worst part of all this is retraining my throat to swallow. I also had the septum reshaped, and the turbinates removed/reshaped. Breathing is much easier, and I am waking up with a lot more energy, but the pain killers I am on are dragging me down, plus not eating anything but 1 cup of JELLO pudding a day has me so dang weak just going to the bathroom leaves me wanting to go back to sleep.

I had the same thing done a few years ago.
