Well...Now that you're getting one....WHERE DID YA GET IT!!! That's right, not only do ya rub salt in the wound, but you also neglect to tell us where ya got it!!! Did you order the SINXP1394 ? Let us know which mobo ya got and what stepping it was ? OK? Thanks.....

BTW, I think NewEgg is teasing us...I went ahead and ordered it from them anyway...no go!!! Oh well, can't blame a guy for trying....LOL!!!
I read some reviews on RoyalPC....I wouldn't recommend buying from this company! Not that I'm about to pay $300 + bucks for a mobo anyway, or even $250!!! C'mon Gigabyte, what's the excuse this time? SiS holding out on ya?

Well, first off, my guess is callesen is full of it. His fist post here ever is to tell us he ordered a board that no one else can? Hardly... Second, how did you order one at newegg? They are not available, nor have they been. you can auto-notify so that you get an email when they do finally arrive, but that is not the same as ordering one.

conscript...believe me...I tried to order it last night....I inquired about my order # tonight, but received an email stating the the order was going to be processed until the product was realized that it wasn't available! Like I said, can't blame a guy for trying! Want to see the email? I tried...didn't pan out. They must have been fishin at the moment(or just trying to get the page together)...

As we were about to process your order, we noticed the motherboard on your order is not currently in stock. Unfortunately, we will not be able to process your order and the order has been cancelled. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Thank You
Dave.

Was this just at newegg.com or did you try the ones on pricewatch? If was both i'm kind of dissapointed, but glad too, $320 is a little crazy for a mobo.

$230 was the asking price at newegg...don't even think of paying or preordering this mobo for anything much more then that amount of dough! Ripoff sites abound, don't play that game.

Granted some of the places offering the SINXP are rip-off places (Gawd, those are some horrible scores at resellerratings) and I would not pay $320 for a mobo. The thing I'm wondering is does anyone have an actual estimated street date for these boards? Once place claimed to have it in stock, another listed the beginning of April before they'd have any stocked, and newegg doesn't list a date.

Did I just miss an estimated street date in the review of the board or are we all in the dark?

I may end up doing it out of desperation, I just cooked the system I had (see signature) was installing new blocks and then my thumb slipped and broke capacitors off the board (stupid placement >< ), got a 2.66 p4 and an ECS P4VXAD v3 for cheap, only problem is, it's defective and I need a replacement asap, so if it comes down to it..... , btw I called Gigabyte about 2.5 weeks ago and they quoted me February 3rd as the official shipping date for the boards, this is why I'm assuming some of these sites are for real. I also looked into a few overseas sites like dabs.com which is UK based, and the 8sq800 Ultra 2 (sinxp1394) goes for approx 207.657 USD, 128 pounds there, as to why the huge price difference... your guess is as good as mine, limited production perhaps? According to Gigabyte some of the boards already shipped DID come with A0 stepping, but BIOS updates will make them fully hyper-thread functional.

Sorry to hear that! $190 is the suggested street price(US). But , as always there will be those who play the game! $230 is my limit...if I can't get it for that, I'll wait for springdale/canterwood. I'm not going to be an idiot, I've worked hard for da money and I'm not giving it up(for some greedy third party vendor!) It's a really nice mobo, but it ain't all that, and isn't worth being taken to the cleaners. Asus has a really nice SiS mobo out there also...

I'm hoping newegg gets theirs in fairly quick, I'm building a new system from the ground up (whee! first time building) and wanted to use this mobo/chipset as my foundation.

Dude - this is far from my first post - but the friendly moderators deleted my account because my nick' was (cover your ears) p0rnflake..

Secondly - not all of us live in the states you know - anyone looking hard enough will find both E7205 and SIS655 board in European webshops.

The company I ordered it from messed up - they sent me the wrong freaking mobo - I ordered another from from cyberport.de who HAS them in stock. (check for yourself)

I understand that people are from all over the place here, but without your profile open, it's impossible to know. Sorry for the mistake.

There is No problem getting the boards here in the Netherlands, but what I would like to know is if the 'Ultra' board has the B0 or A0 stepping.
Supplier doesn't know [and doesn't want to find out]. And I didn't get a reaction from Gigabyte yet...
Does anyone here know if the GA-8SQ800 and the GA-8SQ800 Ultra have the A0 or B0 stepping.....

Evan you wrote 'ALL SIS 655 boards from Gigabyte and MSI are shipped with the B0 stepping', but did you mean ALL SINXP1394 boards or also the 'plain' and the 'Ultra' Version???
Could you give me some help on this subject?

Else I'll just have to wait unitil all A0 boards are sold and only B0 boards are available
I still have 2 weeks patience...after that I'll just order and see how it works...

Evan keep up the good work, I really liked your review, only thing I missed was, if the A0 stepping supported HT.

A0 stepping does support hyperthreading, but there are a few unstable instances, which Gigabyte would not/could not tell me over the phone, they said A0 is stable with BIOS flash though.

They didn't send you the wrong motherboard!!
The 8SG800 has SiS 648 chipset and the 963 which supports hyperthreading

Yeah I know - but they stated on their web page that the board was based on sis655 - It was 5 minuttes before closing time - so I just ordered one as fast as I could. The real shitty part is that I've could have had my Asus E7205 board from overclockers.co.uk if they hadn't had problems with international orders because of some screwup.

Well....saw the GA-SINXP1394 listed for $205....preorder of course. Getting much better! I am relieved in seeing that. Trying now to decide if I should preorder it(from this vendor) for that price now...I sure as hell don't want to be waiting forever like I was with the GA-8INXP...

well that price at adelong.com.au is definatly wrong or something because the pic of the motherboard is not a GA-8SQ800UL.

Your right about the pic (shows the 8SG800), but since it is an SiS chipset it should be cheap.
