I have bought around 5 of these within the last year. Not one of them have failed me or my friends.

I too have about 5 of these with no problems! And have not had problems getting all my rebates! To me it is a super hot deal. In fact I had a two antec go bad and used ultras to replace them.

I've bought 9 all told, all FAR expect for an Infinity I paid $10 for.

Four of the 500W's one are running here right now and not so much as a hickup out of any of them. They may be cheap, but they work very well. I've scoped the output on one of them and it is providing clean power that varies very little.

That said, I use an Enermax in my main machine, but that supply was like $90. I would not feel comfortable using the Ultra in this machine because it is loaded with HD's.

$40 not earning intrest for 10 weeks, risk of not even getting the $40 back, and risk of having an unstable PC.

I guess for $5 is a free PSU, but is it any good?

Anyone have an idea if the dates are going to be a problem for people ordering right now?

In other words -- the only thing I had to use for FAR Case was the packing slip.
If we order now, chances are it get's packed/shipped tomorrow -- 2/19/07 -- which is beyond the rebate period.

I'm a little nervous.... but want to pul the trigger.

edit: meh, My last deal had the ship-date on the packing slip, which was one day off from the order date. I'm holding off for next time on this deal. Wish I had seen it yesterday. Good luck to those that order today.

Dude idk if he's using the same PSU's, the output rating that he lists for the 500w is different than this PSU. According to that link, the outputs are:

3.3V: 18A (59.4W)
5V: 25A (125W)
12V: 18A (216W)
Total Wattage: 400.4W

According to Ultra's site, and according to my PSU if I recall correctly:

3.3V: 20A (66W)
5V: 32A (160W)
12V: 28A (336W)
Total Wattage: 562W

Although Ultra rates the peak power output as 562 and lists the PSU as 500W, which I find strange to begin with, it's ridiculous to say that it's really 400W max, or else the guy couldn't have loaded it up to 463W like he claims (or am I missing something?)


I just noticed that the Amperages he lists for the 500W are the same as the 350W, which is the same as what the 350W is listed on Ultra's site.

ok, i just got mine in today. its DOA. well, either that or its not cooperating with my system. my board will turn on, but the fans dont spin up (including the one in the PSU), and im not getting anything on the screen... how should i handle this situation? thanks.

Call and RMA it back to fry's. But be sure to hold on to the receipt with the correct date for the rebate.
