Skinny people: my rant

I am so tired of skinny people complaining that they can never find a size 0 or 2 in stores. Yesterday I went to the mall looking for a pair of khakis. . . first we go to American Eagle. EVERY SINGLE pair of pants in the entire store (literally) were either a size 0 or 2, with a couple exceptions. There was one 4, two 6s, and one 8.

Most stores I go into carry a ton of 0 - 6 sizes, and very few over that. When I do find a rare size that's over 10, it's like a stray size 22 or something that's way too huge. What happened to in-between sizes??

Ok, I just needed to get that out of my system. :disgust:

Littlelilith,

Are you gravitationally-challenged? You seem to dislike the ectomorphic folks in your community....

What's up with all these different "sizes" like 4 and 6? When I buy pants I look for how long they are and how wide they are (in inches). I've never seen numbers like 6 or 8 on them.

Sure they have big & tall stores, but plus sizes are too big for me. I'm an in-betweener.. I don't wear 2s and I don't wear 18s either. You'd think middle-average sizes would be easiest to find, but they're not.

FrogDog: You're a guy, right? Those are how guys' sizes are. Girls/women's sizes are almost always just a number.

A size 0 is too big for me Heh, almost 15 and still under 100 lbs High metabolism.

And what is up with a size 0, wouldn't that mean there is no size?

Uhh you do realize you are ranting about women's clothes sizes to a board where the vast majority is male, right?

Yeah, I know. . . but I see posts every few days where a woman is complaining about how she can never find size 0s, and people who wear bigger sizes have nothing to complain about. I want to know where these women shop.

I will never understand how women's clothes can be categorized by one number. Shirts can be S, M, L, XL. Those I can understand, but things like dresses? I dunno....I guess it works

LOL, it is true... I go clearance shopping a lot and I am always bringing home stuff for my size two sisters and girlfriend.

I'd like to add my complaint:

Sizes are so inconsistent, not only from store to store but even in specific lines of clothing! I tried on a pair of pants and decided I liked them so much I bought two of them in the same size, but when I got them home I found that one was considerably smaller than the other. There is a lot of mis-labeling going on out there.

You must have been in the short 'n' sticklike store. You should have gone next door to the fair and middlin' branch.

Clothes don't seem to be made for normal people anymore. My ex-wife had trouble getting pants all the time too. She's about 5' 3" and even the petite pants were usually at least 3 or 4 inches too long.

Thats where I end up shopping.
I guess it depends on where you live, because around here its hard to find normal clothes (as in not looking like you are a 15 year old heading off to a party) that are below a 4.

If you are in the average range it could just be a case of those sizes being the first to go...

She has the same issue, nothing in her size in the women's or already snatched up by the petite girls working there before it can even make the rack It's OK with me though, I like her dressed like that :Q (we need an evil/twisted smiley to add to post like this)

Well, it is a problem for me. I can't find black flat front Docker's khakis with my waist size here. I think it's waist '28' (damn you americans ... j/k. It's annoying going into a store and the salesman give you that look of death because your pants are falling off.

I wish my GF were a size 5!! Hell, I wish she was an 8-10. She was when I met her. Now she's a 14. Mooooooooooooooooooo. (yes, it's mean...and I don't want to hear it either!) Truth be 'da truth. I see thin girls now and I drool. I am a testosterone-overloaded freak.

I am 9 pounds heavier than when I met her. She is 25-28 pounds (depends on the time of the month...
)heavier than when I met her. No, she's not pregnant. :Q Heaven freakin' forbid.
