Sorry about your situation Lilith, but it's true that skinny people have a hard time finding clothes that look good and fit...my g/f and I both enjoy shopping, but she's 5' 3", and would theoretically wear something around a 00 or 0, but no stores ever have something in her size. And on top of that, when they do, it'll probably be like 5 inches too long, since she's short. (I always wonder where where these 5'9" size 0 women are...). In my case, I'm 5'11", with a 27" (26" if you want it TIGHT) waist, which is pretty damn small for a guy, but I have a decent build. Like right now I'm wearing a dress shirt that took forever to find, and yet it's hard to tuck it in right since there's so much damn excess in the waist area, despite fitting me fine in the shoulders.

Such is life. My latest clothes were from Club Monaco, they cater to skinny people there, I like it.

Maybe the area where you're living has a larger average size? Move to MI, you'll find plenty of clothes here for you, since the girls are all too busy not eating and throwing up. ^_^

I am 9 pounds heavier than when I met her. She is 25-28 pounds (depends on the time of the month...
)heavier than when I met her. No, she's not pregnant. :Q Heaven freakin' forbid.

They all say that. They just want you to tell them how beautiful they are.:disgust:

No, really. It isn't just that. She's over that. She just isn't over the "I'm not frickin' 95lbs so I'm not pretty to myself" kick yet. But I don't worry too much. When we get married, I plan on burning plenty of calories.

What happened is what you would statistically expect. Most women are middle-sized, so most women buy size 8-12; therefore, stores are most likely to be out of stock of those sizes.

This is somewhat dependent on the target market of the store. A place like AE targets teens and young adults, so is likelier to be on the smaller size, a store like Wet Seal that targets the pubescent to young teen is going to have lots of 0-4 sizes, and a store like The Limited or Eddie Bauer will tend towards the mid-high range for inventory.

heh, yeah, I'm really skinny....probably not a 26 anymore, just 27? 33 really isn't too skinny, but how tall are you? I'd imagine that a good number of people on this forum wear size 30s and possibly smaller.....well, I dunno, really.

You should try finding some pants that look good on you when you have my waist size....last time I found something that "looked" good on the rack, I practically ripped them open because my legs were too big......really didn't look too flattering. My g/f found it hilarious, however.

I wear a size 30-32 waist, depending on the brand. (Old Navy's 31 much tighter than my Polo and Quiksilver jeans 31)

Average size is about a 12-14 from what I understand.

Know what I hate? Fat people. Why? Because every damn store around here seems to stock cloths for fat people. Whenever I go shopping for pants I can never find a 32 size waist, it's ALWAYS 36+. Stupid fat people make it hard for me to find pants.

I don't know whether to laugh or shake my head...I think I'll just do the former

How much does she weigh???:Q

Anyway, I have NO trouble finding clothes to fit me (32" waist, 34" length)

Making sense of women's sizing for clothes is a lost cause. It's not designed to appeal to logic, nor is it meant to make shopping easy for women. The only pattern I've ever noticed is that in some stores, it's designed to appeal to the woman's self-image. (and I'm somewhat iffy on that theory)

A size 4 in one store does not equal a size 4 in another. A size 4 also does not correspond to any known physical measurement, and there is no standards body which keeps track of this stuff. Different brands have their own ideas on what comprises a size 4, and there is even variation amongst different items from the same brand. A guy can go to the store, and if he knows his size he can buy clothes without trying them on, and know that there's a high probability that they will fit just fine. A woman needs to try on every last item.

It is also not known why stores carry clothing that is not designed to fit normal people (who would then presumably buy this clothing), but instead an imaginary race of emaciated pre-pubescents.

MichaelD: I thought you left her?

Shhh! Don't be going and pointing out the logic, he won't be able to blame the "fat people" any more if you do that!

Hmm, interesting idea. I don't believe it though. If that was the case you'd think they wouldn't ALWAYS be out of the 32 sizes, but they are, and there's always plenty of 36-40+. If the smaller sizes sold so well, why would they not stock more of them?

Well. You know they make the #'s smaller than they should be so woman dont feel bad when they have to wear a large, isntead they can get a medium.
My gf is 5' 90 lbs. shes just petite. finding clothes is a real challenge, jr's dont have gd fit.
IMO, if you really wanted to size womans clothes, you would have skinny-normal sizes in xs - l, where xs woudl be for woman like my gf, and L would be for 6' wbna players. and than normal - plump(sorry if thats not pollitcaly correct) s-l, for woman who are more moderate in there sizes. otherwise is impossible for woman to get clothes that fit properly
and yes size 0 is HUGE!!!!! Some of my friends wear size 0, and i thought they were just avg size. I've seen dresses that were size 0, where the bottom of the dress would be at my ankles, and the shoulder straps are over my head. and i'm 5'7.
