So the next game in the Elder Scrolls series: Skyrim was announced on thew VGA's Saturday night? So who here has actually finished an Elder Scrolls game? I was very into Morrowind, and Oblivion, but despite the countless hours I sunk into them I barely touched the main storyline, let alone finished them.

I finished the first one. Gave up about 1/4 into Daggerfall, maybe an hour into Morrowind and stopped. Never touched Oblivion.

Morrowind and Oblivion. But they were both relatively simple compared to Daggerfall and Arena.
Actually Oblivion is quite short if you just plow ahead with the main quest. You can beat it at level 1 without killing anybody, just use a paralyze spell on the last guy.

Morrowind I finished twice, mapped out, and I mean literally revealed every patch of land on the map. Probably cleared out every unique location. Finished the expansions once each. Decorated my room in Balmora with practically every item in the game.

Oblivion I finished once and finished all the DLC. Liked Morrowind more honestly.

The main quests in both are pretty short and direct, not much to them. It's the exploring that takes years to do.

I finished the main story line and all the faction quests for both Oblivion and Morrowind + expansions. I didn't spend as much time exploring because the quests make me walk around anyway.

Finished the main quest in Morrowind, but left a LOT of content untouched. Barely made a dent in the MQ of Oblivion, though I completed a lot of the side quests and did a lot of traveling around. Positive I left a lot uncompleted though.

I finished Morrowind, did my best to find all the unique items, and possible side quests for my character etc.

I got a ways into exploring Oblivion's side quests and game world, downloading hundreds of mods on the way, the whole time it's repetitive landscapes and design flaws building in my subconscious. I eventually snapped, and relaized I hated the game more than any other I'd ever played.

I finished FO3. Quit Morrowind before ever opening the end gate. Quit Oblivion after closing like 3434/5000 red portals and wanting to stab myself in the eyes.

I beat Arena.

I gotta admit I bought Arena because of the cover art, but it turned out to be a great time. My biggest problem was that I loved the spell creator too much and kept wasting time inventing new spells (and wasting $$), when I finally rolled an assassin and cruised through the game it was much easier.

I have something like 100 hours in Oblivion, but I haven't finished the main story.
Had a lot of time in Morrowind + expansions but didn't finish the main story in that either.

Finished the main storylines of Oblivion and Shivering Isles, along with many of the side quests. Will start playing Morrowind soon.

I think my saved game says I had 240 hours in Oblivion, but a lot of that was in leveling while I was AFK (the leveling system did suck). I did beat the main story line and the expansion, and did most of the side quests. I didn't finish the assasins guild quest, but finished all other guild quests.

I played Morrowind for about 10 minutes, but couldn't get into it. I heard that it has mods to make it look better, but I have yet to find any, and everytime I ask no-one can tell me what any of those mods that improve the visuals are.

I think I may go back and play through the main story of Morrowind, and Oblivion before Skyrim comes out. I will need to restrict myself to the main story though, or else I know I will never finish them.

IIRC, isn't Skyrim the homeland of the Nords? I hate ice/snow scenery. Didn't care for Morrowing: Bloodmoon expansion's scenery, really preferred the Ashlands.

beat Morrowind and Oblivion.

Daggerfall pwned me. Played Arena a little, but didn't get into it.

I still want to go back and beat Daggerfall in Doxbox, still have the disc.

Same here. I couldn't see the point in "running" around slowly and doing nothing, so I never got far in Morrowind.

I put a lot of time into both Morrowind and Oblivion but never finished the main quest in either.

I might load them up again and do just that, instead of getting distracted by all the sidequests.

I finished Morrowind and Oblivion. Still playing a modded Oblivion to this day.

For me, the main quest is a side show. I'm all about exploring-looting-killing in a huge open sandbox. I still find new stuff in Oblivion after 4 years.

I got up to level 70-something in Morrowind but got stuck because I couldn't find a quest item..I forgot to back up my save in a format and didn't bother starting again. Oblivion bored me quite quickly.

Finished Morrowind after doing a lot of side quests and just plain exploration.
Have ~90 hrs in Oblivion, I didn't really touch the main story... I might finish it one day.
Didn't play other games from the series.

Finished Oblivion main quest. There's supposed to be a reward of some kind of armor if I return in a few days after the main quest, but I never returned to play again. Look forward to the new one next year though.

Probably 150 hours invested in Oblivion over four or five seperate characters. Absolutely loved the game but eventually reached the point where I realized I would never ever play it again under any circumstances.

I did beat the main quest once, it was fun enough. Side quests and just general exploration were the highlights. Hated the voice actors though, especially that stupid bitch that voiced the Nord and Ogre women. Ugh...

Also some extremely annoying immersion breakers - Mannimarco was built up to be this Lich brought back from the dead, evil incarnate...etc. Then you finally meet him and he's a generic Altmer hiding in a damp cave, and he has the same combat dialogue the regular Altmer have. What a joke!

I will say that the Assassins Guild was a lot of fun though. And mods like OOO and all the various visual tweaks doubled the lifespan of the game for me. I never did do the Thieves Guild, I think that's the only one I skipped...

finished morrowind and finished oblivion more than once each. Only after mods though, the stock games were VERY broken.
