Maybe, which leads me to my second correction. It is giants I had the problem with, the big guys who have the two woolly mammoths. I found them more difficult than dragons.
That perk you took only made *novice* Illusion spells cost half as much, not all Illusion spells. I'm not sure, because I never use it, but that probably means Fear is not a novice spell.
Anyone still playing this? Saw it was $39.99 on Amazon so I went ahead and ordered it. Hoping it will be here by the end of the week!
Maybe if you're stuck in a room and literally nothing else to do you could find 300 hours to kill in here, but that's what it would be doing, killing time only.300 hours of gameplay? If so lets play this game.

The game is certainly worth the $40 on Amazon. I'd urge picking it up for that.
That said, now that it's been even further since I played the game I am left with an impression that I enjoyed the 50 or so hours but what takes a great deal of my memory is that the story line was too small for the world; my character never developed very far, even with doing side quests, before the game ended, and combat mechanics were weak. Overlooking these it's still a highly recommended game. I absolutely prefer the world of Fallout, though. As I get older I'm so tired of the fantasy genre, it's just a mish mash of nonsense. Sci fi still seems fresh.
The most obvious question is are you using VATS? Skilled with the weapon you are using? Maybe turn down the difficulty until you are comfortable with the game's mechanics. Also, you don't have to fight, just run away to find ammo or equipment and come back later if it's an interior area.
So I'm not completely off topic: I put about 8 hours into Skyrim before a bug stopped me cold 3 months ago. Maybe it's been patched by now, would love to get back to it after ME3.
My bug was he stopped halfway up the stairs.
LOL, I had that problem too, but I managed to push him inch by inch back up the stairs to the door.
I decided to go the Wood Elf Archer route. I'm about 6 hours in, one dragon is dead, a few dungeons cleared, this game is so much fun.
What's the best way to get better weapons/armor? I'm level 6 or 7 now and still using the same bow I've had since level 3 or so.

This is one I was asked to pass on to you from several fans: How much loot, or rather, how much additional stuff is being added to the game?
Well there's the full set of Dragon Bone weapons. <Thinks> We give you a lot of gear on the Dawnguard side. That helps balance out the Vampire Lords abilities. The Dawnguard stuff has; new light and heavy armor, new weapons, you can have a new type of dog companion, [and] an armored troll to come fight with you. On the Vampire Lord side you have a whole new perk tree and we also added a whole new perk tree for Werewolves too. That's another feature we added to the game even though it's not part of the [Dawnguard] story. We wanted to make the Werewolves more interesting, more playable for higher levels, so we expanded on that. There's a lot of stuff in the game.
Did I see a new mount in the Dawnguard trailer?
Yes! So in the realm of Soul Cairn--the realm of trapped souls--you can get a miscellaneous quest to find the Skull of Arvak. Hes this lost horse who's been taken over, turned undead in this realm. So if you find his skull you can ride him all around and even back in Tamriel.
