SLI help --nvidia

A friend of mine just put in a second 7600gt in his system to run in SLI.
He says the machine is working fine but that he has no idea how to tell if the second card is working. So how do you tell? Will it install any aditional drivers or make any changes to the system? The cards are virtually identical. I've never used SLI so i haven't got a clu about the process.
Also i'm communicating with him via email so i can't really mess around with it to figure it out. Also are there usually bios settings to enable sli?
What about pci snoop?

Any help appreciated.

How 'bout benchmarking w/ SLI disabled & then with it enabled ?

They have these apps called 3DMark05/06.

And games & Fraps too

I was going to suggest that to him but how do you enable/disable sli?
Can it be done without removing the card?

Right click the desktop and go into the Nvidia control panel, there should be a Multi GPU tab there to enable/disable SLI

He needs to reinstall his nvidia driver IIRC.

He's done that and he's getting this.

Could this mean that he has an onboard graphics adapter that might be enabled or is it something else?

if he has turned on SLI in the driver control panel, then he can check if it's being utilized by going into advanced mode, then in the tool bar at the top there is a 3d option, and something in the vein of "Turn on SLI bars". If they go up and down on the top and bottom SLI is working in that game.

EDIT: sorry, just saw it's Vista. Not sure if what I detailed above is accurate in Vista
