Hey.. I've been looking around for 4X DVD-R media to use with my Sony DRU-500AX, and for $52 ($2.08/ea.), one can get a 25 pack of high quality Ritek 4X DVD-R media.. Or, if you want to get it for $1.82 per DVD-R, you can dish out $91 for 50..... By the way, free ground shipping...

15 min. per DVD-R is worth the extra cost.. Not worth the time to pay $1 for 1x media, if your drive can support higher speeds.

Not a bad price at all for 4x media. Can anyone confirm that these will burn at 4x in the Sony? I have been using the Ritek G03 media, which work perfectly at 2x in my Sony, but I don't know about the 4x Ritek and the Sony.

Haha, I just ordered 50 DVD-Rs... They better burn at 4x, or i'll be getting a refund!!! I'll let you know though.

I've used Ritek 4X DVD-R media, both silver-top and white-top, in my Sony DRU-500A with no problems whatsoever.

Or you could by them here for $1.84 in the 25 pack = $46. Already a thread here althoug the price used to be 44.50. You can get them for 1.77 in the 50 pack. Free shipping and I can confirm that they are Ritek G04. Burn flawlessly on my pioneer 4x.

Cheetoden, where can I buy 2x ritek for 92cents in the 25 pack with free shipping cause I am all over it once you show me where!!! The only good ritek 1x I can find are around 1.40. They are 1x for me cause the a05 won't do them at 2x.

Well, I just got my order from this place on a 25 pack Ritek G03 with the dvd case for $36.25 shipped. I see that they raised the price a bit since I ordered. Its now $38.50. Text

So lets see. $38.50 divided by 25 is $1.54.... for a disc that will burn in 1 hour for me... and $1.84 for one that will be done in 15 minutes. For me the 30 cents is worth it. If and when they come out with a firmware upgrade that will let me burn at 2x I might consider otherwise. Or if it was closer to the $1 per disc without the cases.

Seriously though I go these too and I am very pleased with them, but I was a bit pissed about the .30 cent per case. Why can't they sell em for 1.15 in a spindle and be done with it?

What about these Princo's for .75 cents each? (Darn they were just 69.00 two days ago! This is almost as bad as buying gasoline!)RIMA @ .75 cents

Seems that the media sold at pcclub could be ritek, sony or lead data. The real upsetting thing is I found a store that has the 50 pack for $39.99. Unfortunately the website has them for $49.99 and won't PM their own store

But you can't get them for 36.25 anymore can you. So 1.54 - .30 is $1.24. And you have to buy the stupid cases, which I don't want or need. So you are still paying 1.54 per disk.

And deeznuts, Shipping on those at rima is $4.24 which makes it $32.99 for the pack which is about a $1.32 per disk and they still only burn at 1x!

I bought 100 pack around March 5th or so from rima.com of ritex 4X DVD-Rs at $170. Then March 10th I bought another 100 pack cuz I hear of price hikes. Sure enough it was $175...now it's $180. The 2X Riteks are even pricier...they use to be $80 for 100 pack and now they are $110.
