Yes, of course I've been to Mangia's. Good pizza.

wtf? I didn't know there was anyone that close to me on these forums. I'm in Black Creek.

Charlies used to have good pizza, when they were copying Renna's style. But, their pizza just sucks anymore. The crust is no good. (Of course, Fox's can barely be called "pizza") I think the best pizza, by far, is a hand-tossed pizza from Tasta that's cooked in the oven without a pan. Unfortunately for you, they don't sell them that way It's incredible how different it tastes made from the exact same incredients, just by how the dough is handled. Maybe I'll get bored one of these weekends and offer to work someone's shift there, just so I can make a "homemade" pizza.

Renna's always had the best pizza... Too bad you had to go to the "mall" to get it....

not to turn this into a "my local pizza place has the best pizza ever" thread, but if you guys are ever in Louisville you should check out Bearno's and Boombozz pizza. I think Boombozz is better than Bearno's but they are totally different in style. Usually the crust is my least favorite part of a pizza (i'm a sauce fan) but Boombozz's crust is awesome.

Only one post into the thread and failure shows itself.

Rennas is pretty good, but not as good if you just buy a slice or two while at the "mall". I used to love that you could save the stamps from the tops of their boxes; after 10 boxes, you got a free large pizza. I wonder if they still do that? Charlie's pizza in Cuba was trying to imitate Renna's pizza, and doing a pretty good job at it. Reportedly, they were paying for use of the recipe or something silly (not sure if that's true.) But every other time I go there, they've changed how they make their pizza again. It more or less sucks, which more or less sucks for me since I'm not driving to Olean for decent pizza. Fortunately, my younger son is now working at Tasta Pizza, so he brings me plenty of leftover pizza at the end of the night. (I especially like it when he brings home leftover wings. Tasta has arguably the best wings in the area (oven baked, not fried.)

Although I lived about 40 minutes from Allegany and my grandparents currently live about an hour, I have never heard of the place.

Last I knew Pizza Mio (I think that was the name of it, its right on Rt 417) was using Renna's recepie too. I have to disagree on the wings tho -- Randy's Up the River "24 Karat Gold" wings are definitely the best I had in the area...

Randy's also has one of the best fish fries. I'll agree, for fried wings. The Pizza Mio you're referring to is Mia Gellato's. It is Rennas, under a different name.

I know I'm bringing up the dead...

My sister is a cook at Randy's! Her mom is as well, and my family is great friends with Randy.

I've done some work there, too. (Bussed tables, shucked clams, etc.)

Free Randy's food is great. This is a goocher, lol.

@Greg, 24k wings are the shit.

It's a hole in the wall in a little town called Allegany, NY.

Anyone been there?

It's a popular tourist spot I wouldn't exactly call it a hole in the wall.
