Slipstreaming ALL sata drivers into XP install

I'm trying to install Windows XP on this HP DV6700 notebook and it's driving me absolutely nuts. I've tried downloading SATA drivers, putting them on an USB floppy drive and loading them during the installation (F6) but I still get "No HDD found." This notebook doesn't have a "compatibility" option in the BIOS. Ergo... how do I get the SATA drivers for *all* Intel chipsets so I can slipstream them onto a Win XP CD?

I thought about getting drivers from a Windows 7 install but I don't know where Windows 7 stores drivers inside its setup directory.

Any thoughts?

Since you already got the proper SATA drivers from Dell, it should be easy.
Follow instructions at this link and it will create a new XP CD with drivers on it.

Correction - HP. I don't know what's wrong with me today. And I'm not sure that they're the right drivers, which is why I'd like to get them through Intel and make sure that I have all of them. I do know how to slipstream installs, that's not the problem. The drivers I downloaded and tried to load during setup via USB floppy didn't work.

Did some checking and found out that the "Intel Matrix Storage Manager" driver is the only one you need to include with nLite. The rest can be installed after Windows XP is installed.

This is the correct SATA driver for XP for your computer:

I appreciate you looking into it but that's actually an application, not a driver. It's Intel's Matrix Storage Console, which is run in Windows but it really doesn't do much.

OK, I finally succeeded at getting Windows XP to install.

Just in case anyone searches with the same issue, the appropriate drivers can be downloaded as a zipped file from here: http://downloadmirror.intel.com/19599/eng/f6flpy-x86.zip.

If you have an USB floppy drive, you can put the following files on the root directory of the disk for the F6 driver install:
iaAhci.inf
iaAhci.cat,
iaStor.inf
iaStor.cat
iaStor.sys
TxtSetup.oem.

When prompted, press "S" to install drivers and choose "Intel(R) ICH8M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller."

Alternatively, you can slipstream the drivers into your XP install but the above are the correct drivers either way.
