One of a pair of SATA drives (WD4000KD), I had intended on using for a mirrored (Raid1) setup, arrived from ZipZoomFly DOA (motherboard will not autodetect it). I am in the process of slipstreaming (nlite) a Windoz install disk and am wondering if I should include the raid drivers (even though I won't have a raid initially). I do not want to reinstall the OS later...when the replacement drive arrives.
Motherboard is an Asus A8N32 -- installing Windows XP (slipstream SP2).
Should I include the Raid drivers ? Should I set up the intended sata ports for Raid from the start -- I can run the single drive off another port ?
Another question, can I use the drive I have and include it in a Raid1 w/o loss of data later ?
BTW: I was not thrilled about ZZF's hard drive packaging.
