it doesn't have a fan... it's only a heatsink...

you have to buy a separate fan..

Lol duh... anyway Ive heard the Papst fans are super quiet and produce good CFM.

I use one of the 92mm quad led fans from SVC.com on my 900u, and it works very well. With my case closed up I can't hear it.

Its undervolted to ~5v. negligable noise and still has decent airflow

what i want? well to put it simply, here is my pc:

when i turn all the fans on high, its daaaaaaamn loud, around 50 db or so... of course i tend to shut it out after a while...so i guess i'm saying i dont care how loud it is if i just can't hear it in the driveway while the car is running lol
110 cfm sounds good, but is there any fans out there that go that fast and have a speed adjuster? i'm tryin to get the best cooling out of this... but a variable speed adjuster would be killer

92mm Panaflo L1A, ~43cfm at ~27db. I'm running it at 12v full speed and it's pretty quiet, nowhere near silent but I am oc'ing right now and haven't got my second case fan in yet so I don't want CPU to get too hot. So far reporting 26C idle and 40C under load on P4 2.6C @ 3.25 (default voltage)

75 cfm at max, 17 db at low. well i wont be getting 110 cfm with this fan... but i can tell you one thing i will be getting: sleep

I read that smart fans are 48db at max rpm. I have nothing to relate that to. Is that annoyingly loud or not to bad?

I would go with F1's suggestion, the Panaflo 92mm high output(56cfm, 35dB). Good balance of power and noise. I'm picky about noise level so I wouldn't want to go above 35dB.

I have an slk900u on a tbred 1700+@ 2.4 ghz and I use an enermax 120 mm fan. It's great! at 40 C idle with little noise. I had to glue it one but it works great.
